The Story Bible: 130 Stories of God's Love

Great way to read and pray with your kiddos at bedtime!

I love the stories and the pictures are absolutely beautiful!

The Book is excellently made. The back cover nice, the pictures, the color, the style of choice of words and simplicity of wordens are all awesome. In fact, my kids are so much in love with this Bible Story Book and never gets tired reading it ever since delivered.

We use it for nightly devotions with our son and are just now in the stories of Samuel as a child. so far though, it has proven to be the best Bible story book we have found (and I have tried many including the Jesus Story Book Bible). it doesn't seem to have unnecessarily flowery language or any of the almost romantic way of talking about God that some of the other Bible story books do and in fact, often seems to be almost giving an exact quote from the Bible itself. There are really only two things I've found that I don't like about it: 1. while the pictures are much more realistic than is common, almost everyone in it appears to be white, which isn't a problem for me as far as being politically correct but it would have been nice if they could have been more accurate since most of the people don't look even remotely like they could have been from the middle east. and 2. in the story of the fall of man, the picture depicts a partially eaten apple laying on the ground as the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil, of course we know that it couldn't have been an apple or we wouldn't be eating apples still.overall, I really love this book and I would certainly buy it again, even for the price it is. I admit I am really picky when it comes to Bible story books but I think the issues with this one aren't important enough to be worth more than a mention.

I was very pleasantly surprised with this Bible story book. The stories are very condensed and based on the actual stories in the Bible. The author has not taken creative liberties with the stories in order to entertain children with fancy or fiction, and I appreciate that most about this book. I wanted a story Bible that was factual, but captivating enough for very young children. My boys are 3 and 4 years old and I just bought another copy for my 5 year old step daughter for her birthday. The boys have only heard a few stories so far, but they keep asking me to read the next story, the next and the...Here are my top reasons for giving this book a 5-star rating:> The stories are very condensed versions of the (f)actual Bible stories. The author has not inserted fictional text for entertainment purposes.> The stories are kept to 1-2 pages in length with large print. The author has done an awesome job editing down to the most pertinent parts of stories that are many chapters long. Brilliant! My rambunctious three and four year old boys easily sit through stories this length and ask for more when we are done.> The book is appropriate for a very wide range of ages. I would say at least from age 3 to 8.> There are helpful margin notes on each story. For each story, the author lists these exercises: "Ask," which are questions to ask children to help them recall what was read; "Do," something they actually must do to illustrate a lesson related to the story topic, and "Pray," an actual prayer for them to recite. What a great way for children to learn, interact and apply what they have learned.> For older children, there are also vocabulary words that are called out in the margins. A great format and an interesting book that children can grow with.I will be buying this for friends and family members for years to come, I am sure. Happy reading.

Very well written and illustrated.

I'm giving this Bible story book the highest rating I can since 1) the art/illustrations are amazingly done; and 2) the stories are accurate from a biblical perspective. Also, the hard-bound edition made a beautiful impact as a gift I gave for a young girl's baptism. This would not be easy reading for a second grade level or below (depending on the child's reading skills), but it does give a list on the side of "hard words" or words that may be unfamiliar just to help the reader understand the vocab. If you are reading this to your child, I would think it would bring some special moments of talking afterward about the story. This is a keepsake-type of book, that you could hand down from generation to generation.

This is an excellent Bible story book. Each story contains all the facts but is short & to the point. This allows me as a parent to read the stories to my 2 year old & 4 year old and keep their attention. The book is very thorough in going from story to story & through the Bible. I would consider it a great learning source for both children & adult. I absolutely love the pictures in this book! This book came recommended to me & I would definitely recommend it to others. Excellent!!!

Beautiful Bible stories

One of the best Bibles for children that we have come across. We have tried several, but this one is theologically solid compared to most.

Beautiful illustrations! Also provides a daily prayer. Wonderful book for children.
