Got this for my A40s after the cable had stopped my mic from working and was throwing my audio either entirely in my left ear or right. The price is a bit higher than I wanted to pay, but it was on prime and did come with a mic cover (which fits nicely). The cord works (at least it is tonight, the day it was received), so I can't say it was a waste. Like I said, I needed a replacement and wanted it fast. This offered it at a price competitive to the others on Prime, and had a mic cover.

You can listen but the mute button is broken. This sucks! Just don’t get it.

Within 1 month the wire started to have issues, ranging from additional static noise and no mic function. Also the in line mic portion does not work to toggle mute. Overall not a good product.

This cable feels and looks exactly like an OEM cable without the logo. The cable does its job, it mutes when the button is pressed and it delivers the same sound quality of an original cable. I only have two gripes about it: one being the mute button, it makes a loud clacking noise when it moves in the slightest, two being that the mute button doesn't work like the original. The OEM mute button for my 2017 TR mixamp toggles the mute, while this one mutes your microphone for as long as the button is held. Other than that, it does everything it claimed and was supposed to do.

Product works as intended. Sound is just like the original and so is mic function. I got the one with the mute button and if connected to Xbox it’s a hold the button mute not a click mute. Works well with the Ampmix as well. Will work just like original.

Exact replacement for the ASTRO A40 with only one caveat. The price. If you are in a bind or just need to have this cable now then ordering here through Amazon with prime or one day shipping is the way to go. You might find yourself now asking well what is the caveat? The price...same cable bought from ASTRO directly is $9. Shipping just takes a lot longer from Astro. Other than that you get the same quality cable with the same performance either way you go. So it just boils down to what do you want to spend to get this cable.

I have the Gen 3 Astro A40 with mix amp. The audio is good and has mic feedback like the original. However, when I press the mute button it mutes the mic and the mix amp doesn't register. So, when I release the mute button, even after holding it for a bit, the mic is not muted.

I've had this cable for awhile now and it does exactly what you need it to do. The quality is exactly an Astro cable and works perfect on my A40's with the Mixamp Pro.
