Great format - lots of pictures and useful information. Lies flat on your work area and its glossy pages offer a few seconds clean up time from all those painty/inky fingerprints!In this book you will find these techniques:-Painting backgrounds. Gesso and mediums. Art journalling. Found and repurposed materials. Stamping. Stencilling. Altering photographs. Transferring. Exhaustive. Playing with paper. Adding texture.Under each of these headings there several different techniques explained and suggestions for your own experimentation. If you only try a few you will have increased your artistic arsenal greatly by opening your mind to possibilities.

I like that this has soanu techniques in one place. The examples aren't particularly to my taste but they're nice enough and the techniques are shown and explained in such a way that its easy to see how one might use them in a different style.One star taken off because some found objects are described as 'man made'. Sorry, but given the limited representation of women in the art world this use of language needs to be looked at and changed to be inclusive and reflect the actual make up of society.

An exciting range of techniques and materials for experimenting with colour, texture, and image. Helpfully illustrated with practical guidance; so many new ideas are reassuringly presented as being possible even for the adventurous amateur.

I like the simple layout , easy to follow , page by age for each topic and compact size of book.

a very good starting point in textile art

My roots are in crafting rather than art and I would describe myself as being intermediate in terms of skill. I say this because It might help in making a decision based on my comments, which are that this is a basic book of techniques and best suited to a beginner. The fact that it is spiral bound is useful if you want to work from it and have it open, and the there are lots of images to help. However it does not have much in the way of examples to show how the techniques are used, which is what I was expecting. This is a small book in size (about A5) but could have been made more complete if they had made it an A4 size and included finished artworks with instructions throughout. Best suited to those who have little or no knowledge of mixed media.

I just recently went into collage and this book is just perfect! It is simple, practical, useful and inspirational as the author is very enthusiastic. Great examples and good explanations. Would definitely recommend.

It was clear and very easy to use

es sind wie in jedem Buch natürlich auch altbekannte Sachen drin, aber auch Techniken oder Verwendung von Materialien, die einen in ihrer Einfachkeit mit anschließenden tollen Effekt verblüffen. Ich finde es sehr verständlich dank der zahlreichen Bilder ( z.T Schritt für Schritt ) und damit sollte es für die meisten gut verständlich sein.

J'ai trouvée les idées pas trop variée. Dommage que ce n'est pas en 3D. Bon qualité de pages en papier/carton.
