Introduction to the next Psychology
Being a psychologist, I think that all about "mental" it's moving toward a more complex interdisciplinary science what put to dialogue many other areas of knowledge like neurosciences, antropology, sociology and especially phenomenological science.Gallagher and Zahavi with their particular humor explain concisely, clear and orderly all the themes especified in the description of the item, defending the contribution of the phenomenology to the debate about mind

good book
This is a good book but could be better, it has flaws with being very vague in places. The book was written to go with a lecture course. but sometimes the lecture course is not what we by the book for. still worth a read but not for a blank entry into phenomenology.

An excellent introduction to the phenomenological theories of mind
An excellent introduction to the phenomenological theories of mind. Carefully argued and clearly expressed. This is not a book to necessarily read in one go but rather one to come back to many times.

Excellent gateway to the world of phenomenology
People say that you should ignore the 5 star reviews because they're written by fanboys. In this case, it is hard to give anything less. One can say that no book is ever perfect, but this just happens to be a really, really good book.Diving into phenomenological philosophy and issues of the consciousness can be daunting. And it is made harder because so many books are full of opaque writing or they are engaged in a war between schools like continental and analytic philosophy. This book bridges the divide between schools of thought and offers a contemporary view of consciousness and phenomenology. It is written in a lucid language and has a clear structure. All in all, it offers an excellent gateway to the world of phenomenology. If you are a newcomer to phenomenology, I suggest you start with this and some general history of the topic, like Moran's Introduction to Phenomenology . Don't try to dive right into Husserl, Heidegger, etc. That will probably just confuse you. And the last thing this world needs is another confused student / philosopher, who ends up writing nonsensical waffle dressed up with Heideggerian concepts. Introduction to Phenomenology
