Introduction to Aberrations in Optical Imaging Systems

fair book that gives different methode of dealing with aberrations
In general this book deals with the subject of aberrations in differenr way that appears in optics and Imaging evaluations books..Optical system evauations by OTF amd MTF are given in the regular way.For those who intent to be optical engineers this is a good starting book.

Excellent text of modern aberration theory
Excellent in depth treatment of aberration theory. This is easily on the level of Welford's and Hopkin's books on aberration theory. In addition Sasian discusses important topics such as pupil aberrations and systems without symmetry rarely discussed but highly important in optical design. Clear, concise and accessible.

fine addition to the optical engineering literature
Best book on optical aberrations that I come across. The mathematical notation is superior to that of earlier texts, e.g. Welford's classic book on aberrations, and the ideas are expressed both clearly and efficiently.
