10g Silica Gel Desiccant (Pack of 50)

These are a great value, have a durable skin and most importantly THEY ARE RECHARGABLE (I put them in the oven for 2-3 hours at 200 degrees).I would rate 5 stars but they are not shipped in an airtight bag. This means they may have absorbed a lot of moisture before they get to the customer. I recharge them before I use them.

They come in an unsealed plastic bag and are thus useless unless you bake them in a vacuum oven. A household oven is not as effective, but better than nothing. It would be better if these were sold already activated. It is misleading to label them as dessicants because, as sold, they are not.

RECEIVED IN AN OPEN BAG, NOT SEALED AT ALL...These packs have been absorbing moisture since WHO KNOWS WHEN!

Not sure how to rate this. Arrived in a sealed plastic bag, but was not vacuum-sealed. I had no idea on the status of the packets. I opened the plastic bag, removed one packet, and re-sealed the bag. I cut open the one packet, and found clearish-white crystals. They did not change color over several days. These are NOT "indicator" dessicants! There is no way to tell whether they are activated or not! Very disappointed!

exactly what i ordered. fresh, unused 10-gram packets of silica for dehumidifying my ammo boxes for long-term storage. of all the deals on Amazon for this type of product, this one was the best; providing the lowest cost per packet and highest quantity of packets this size.

I purchased the 50 pack of 10 gram desiccant packs. The package arrived as two packages of 25 each, vacuum packed in fairly heavy duty plastic. Great price, arrived dry and ready to keep my camera gear dry a day earlier than scheduled, 5 stars 😀Having read some earlier reviews noting that the product wasn't sealed against moisture, I was pleased to see that mine was.

I purchased these to use in multiple home fire safes. I put about 1/3 of the packets in each safe. One safe has a humidity sensor in it. I think they dropped the humidity by about 2-3%. Kind of hoping for more. If I put all of the packets in one safe it might work better. In any case they are okay and I placed my documents into zip lock freezer bags and pushed the air out. It's all good. If you order these I would suggest using 1/2 to the entire package for one application.
