Drum Tuner with Standard Drum Key

An excellent aid for drum tuning. I use this and a Tune-Bot , either would be good enough by itself the way I typically use them. If you want to just get a quick reference point and go from there, I'd recommend the DrumDial. If you want to be more exact I'd probably recommend the Tune-Bot.Both of them are fun to use and provide good info. DrumDial is simpler to use, with Tune-Bot you should probably get some tips and tricks on usage from YouTube, but to use them the way I typically use them both of them are very simple to use. Neither one of them actually requires any calibration if you want to use them for quick reference information.

This is not a tool to get your drums precisely tuned but it will get your heads "in the ballpark" very quickly. If you change a head or need to alter intervals for a specific playing situation the drum dial allows you to get "almost there" in a minute or two. You will still need you ears and you still need to know how to get the drum to really sound good but this gadget eliminates rough tuning and gets you right to fine tuning. I wouldn't even dream of relying just on numbers to get a good sound but I am all for saving time when it comes to tuning. I have a tuning table on my iPhone for my most used heads and pitches. Dial it in then fine tune by ear.

The Drum Dial worked just as expected to tune my banjo head, my only complaint is with the Drum Dial packaging (not the Amazon packaging). It came in a small box (padded inside with foam) within an Amazon bubble mailer envelope, but the box wasnt taped closed, so the drum dial was able to be knocked around inside the envelope. It seems to still be functional, but it's pretty dinged up, and there's one loose piece inside the envelope that I can't figure out the origins of; it looks like it might've been knocked off the Drum Dial somewhere. Could've been prevented with a bit of tape.Other than that, it's a 5-star product. It sure beats tap tuning any day.

Great! My drums never sounded better! Also a great tool to doublecheck your "ear tuning" . i was happy to see that i was within a notch or two of recommended specs. This makes sure all lugs are evenly tightened and saves a lot of time.

Very easy to use. I used the recommended tuning numbers and overall they were good however you will need to tweak your tuning to get the sound you like.

Never owned one of these before, but thought I would tune up my banjo correctly. Very easy to calibrate and use. I assume it would be just as easy on a drum head

Very helpful in removing the unwanted resonance. It also comes with a small booklet with some standard pressure measurements for different drum sizes. Although the drum dial allows you to set the pressure evenly, a drum tuner is still needed if you want to tune your drums to a specific note.

Not a replacement for tuning by ear but it's certainly helpful when setting up the drum head or trouble shooting certain spots.
