Beautiful bird feeder with lots of options. You need to be patient putting it together. Took me a bit but it fits together great. Very well made and the birds love it.As for not having perches, it does. They don’t stick out like you may be used to, but there’s a built in perch that the birds hang onto. The perch is small, though, so big birds can’t use it. Another plus!

Appreciate the Droll Yankee quality. My little birds found it in one day and come consistently to empty this.

I would give this 5 stars, but the polycarbonate seems thin so I’ll wait to see how durable it is. Also the tray is a bit small (I bought the ten inch) and the price on the 15 inch was outrageous.Some folks have given the feeder bad reviews because the rubber piece that holds the dome in place doesn’t hold. I’ve had trouble with that feature on every brand of this type of feeder that I have used. There is a simple and permanent fix.Simply find a short length of tubing with a 3/8 to 1/2 inch inner diameter, slide it over the rod, and cut to length. Most any rigid tubing will work - bamboo, metal, pvc. I prefer metal because sometimes squirrels are attracted to plastic and will chew it, but you will need a hack saw to cut the metal tube.Most times the gasket that comes with the feeder fails from the weight of squirrels jumping onto the dome. The tubing sleeve provides enough support to solve the problem long term and it’s a cheap fix.

I have had at least 4 of these in the last 30 years. I have always purchased a large tray (droll yankee product also, there are 2 sizes and I use the larger). I like the dome as it does keep the seeds dry in rainy weather which we have a lot of in Houston. Having said all that I have to say that my newest two were not anywhere near the quality of those in the past. My first two lasted about 15 years each. My last two have barely lasted a year. The squirrels have eaten through the very thin plastic pieces. They sit in the bowl and eat... this does not bother me as I'm willing to feed them too. The older ones had enough weight that it didn't swing a great deal. Not these new ones. I've picked them up off the ground many times. The pieces break off along the top of the bowl. The bottom piece that fits over the bottom holes breaks and from there the bottom piece ((of the bowl itself) then the bowl just slips to the side, pouring out the food. If you don't have squirrels ( and I do have a number of squirrel boxes around also so they don't have to eat out of bird feeder but they do) then this will probably work well. It is truly the perfect feeder and my birds love it. My problem is the price. The price has actually not gone up that much in 30 years and I didn't mind paying that much for a great feeder. Today however it is very over priced for the cheap product it has become. The green spacer under the bowl that allows the seeds to fall through was literally eaten completely through the first week ! I understand that I have aggressive squirrels and I also understand that eventually they will eat through ANYTHING. I just don't think I'm willing to pay this price (and add another $20 for tray underneath, though I'm still using the two original ones when they were better made) for the product they are producing today.

After about 3 weeks of having this feeder, my local bird buddies have taken notice and started coming to it! It brings me so much joy every time I catch a glimpse! The feeder itself is very well made and sturdy; the suction cups are excellent and stick with ease on the first try. Very happy!

This is the best window feeder available. There is no need to try any other types. I have done that already for you! (Please let my time and frustration in trying other feeders pay off for you!)This one is easy to fill, easy to clean, easy to hang. The feeder itself is separate from the suction cups, so you can slide the feeder off, dump out the old seed shells, and then slide it back on to refill it. (Or you can just pour in a new tray full of seeds on top of the old shells.) This is an easy task for my 7-year-old. The tray type seed holder is also good for mealworms or any other type of food you would like to put out.You can adjust the height to keep larger birds out or to let them in. Many other feeders are not large enough for jays and cardinals. Some feeders aren't even big enough for chickadees! We have seen titmice, chickadees, cardinals, cedar waxwings, sparrows, and occasionally a blue jay at this feeder. They come all day long and have gotten used to us being inside; we can observe the birds quite closely. Since it is on the window, the feeder is safe from squirrels and cats.The seeds stay dry. The suction is strong enough for high winds. The plastic is thick, stays clear, and is strong enough to handle being dropped by above-mentioned 7-year-old.This is overall a high quality item that is well designed. There is no need to continue shopping and guessing which will be best. This is it.UPDATE: Since buying this for my own family, I have since bought 3 more as gifts.

We have hung this on a pulley clothesline between our home and a tree - the cover is just the right height and diameter to keep the squirrels and larger birds out

Its fantastic! Bird love it. We love it! It brings so much joy to see them closer. It's a great quality. Easy to remove from the mounted frame and fill or clean.

This is my second one of these feeders and they are fantastic. Unlike other window feeders I have had, the suction cups work very well and the frame is sturdy.
