Your Words Hold a Miracle: The Power of Speaking God's Word Audio CD – Unabridged, May 8, 2012

I read from this book just about every day. It is really that good.Reading the book, I find John making two major points:1. 'They are God’s words. God has breathed life into them ... take these “God-breathed” words and declare them, miracles come to pass!' (p. 55)2. 'If you don’t think this spiritual law of speaking God’s Word works, try it in reverse. That’s what most people do anyway.' (p. 61).And, John can point to at least 2 miracles in his own life as evidence. Also, John will hardly let a page go by without quoting the Bible as the source of his teaching as well as giving credit to the Holy Spirit for inspiring (breathing into) him.I discovered John Osteen after reading Joel Osteen. John is Joel's father and is the founder of Lakewood Church. This book has been reprinted by Joel Osteen and each chapter has a commentary from Joel.I love Joel's work. I like John's better -- if that is at all possible.If you liked Joel Osteen's "I Declare" or any other Joel Osteen book for that matter, then I highly recommend this book to you. I believe that you will find, as I did, that John Osteen's works are the source that Joel draws upon and very much worth reading.

Death & life are in the power of the tongue! Set a watch on the door of your lips! At any one point in time you open your mouth, you are either speaking life or death, no grey areas.Be blessed!!

I give it 4 stars as it's all 100% scriptural; the approach I have some reservations about - I don't feel it's my place to remind God of what He says in His "Word" - I think the prayerful person needs to remind him or herself as to what has been stated in the Bible - Old and New Testament - as to our place before Holy God and the full promises and touchstones that have been made and established when acting in faith - and love - and that includes love of self. Our gifts, talents and calling are real and valuable. The Osteen family, Mr. John Osteen, and his dynamic son, Joel Osteen - despite this expressed reservation relative to some methods used in this book - really can help creative people caked with psychological paralysis and excessive morbid introspection...these gentlemen pass the keys. "I am who God says I am ....." is really a door-opener.Do well, be good, be a star - there's more than enough room and never enough light.

Book addresses the power of the tongue, but I would like to have seen more illustrations. The book goes on to present an uplifting message and references some excellent passages to read repetitively to strength your understanding of the Word.

This is one of those books I can read over and over again. This is not a book I keep on my shelf after reading, it is always out on my desk and I pick it up frequently just to read a few pages. I am beginning to see myself as God sees me and realize that I am strong in the Lord. My favorite passage that I read over and over is "Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world." I loved this book so much I bought copies for others because I wanted to assure them of the truth that God will never leave us or forsake us. God's Word spoken out of our mouth, will create the changes we desire in our lives.

I bought the book and the audio book on cd. I have listened to it over and over again. And I'm also reading the book and usinga highlighter for the parts that especially encourage me and remind me of God's goodness and faithfulness to His children.What a treasure it has been for me. We so easily forget the power in our words...for good and for bad. I am very thankfulthat John Osteen wrote this and also, the book titled, "Becoming a Man of Unwavering Faith". (recently received this audiobook on cd, too!) I highly recommend both of these books for anyone interested in being refreshed, and reminded of somevital, basic principles in God's Word.

This book was inspiring. I personally believe every person especially Christian people should obtain a copy and constantly refer to it. This is because the book is inspirational. We often discount the power of the spoken word and the influence it can exert over our lives. While the book would originally been written years ago by John Osteen, it has been updated by comments from Pastor Joel Osteen which makes it ever relevant to the average person. What is wonderful also is the passages in the book which one can use as prayers to our Heavenly father. I would easily recommend this book especially to persons who are new in their walk in finding Jesus.

With all the negativeness in this world we make sure to feed our bodies but what about our SPIRIT. Joel Osteen is the only pastor i have come in contact with that trully feeds my spirit. His books and sermons are so inspirational and nurturing to the soul, this book puts a light bulb in your head and you ask yourself why have I been so negatigive with life. This book shows you how to speak promise and life in your home, business, for your family and especially for yourself. I will read it until I can memorize every word. This book was life changing for me.

This book is amazing and is one that I will re-read over and over until I know the prayers off by heart. Although it was written a while ago, everything Pastor Osteen says relates to how were living in 2020. Our words definitely have power. Let's ensure that we speak words that line up with God's truth.

This is one of my favourite books by JOHN Osteen. I have gained much wisdom and it made me aware that my words were either a blessing or a curse for myself and other people. Really enjoyed it.
