Gas station coffee is fine for some people, but what you want on your hikes is the real thing. The Stanley Classic Vacuum Travel Press Mug lets you enjoy strong and delicious pressed coffee wherever you are with an integrated press built into the mug. The mug itself is made of stainless steel and is vacuum insulated, so you won't have to worry about your brew going cold too soon.

High quality travel mug and an awesome french press. One of my best purchases ever!
This travel mug is as awesome as you think it is. I've used it every day for the past 2 weeks, most of which have been on the road flying around the world.- First off, it keeps coffee hot for every bit of 4 hours. Probably 5 hours if I let it go that long. I actually have to let it sit with the top off for 20 minutes just so it will cool off enough for me to enjoy it.- Most importantly for a travel mug, it does not leak. It has very good quality silicone seals. The lid screws on securely and is just the right amount of turns so that its not annoying to keep unscrewing the lid every time you want to drink. I prefer these types of mugs over the push button type because they seal better and have better flow when drinking. Granted, one handed use would be nice in some situations, but this is a pretty kick butt mug.- Now for the coolest part. If you're going to spend $20-$30 on a travel mug, why not get one with the option of being a french press? It holds 16 oz. of coffee with the press in. Take out the press, use it as a standard travel mug that will probably hold close to 18 oz. The functionality of the press is top notch. The screen is very fine mesh (even finer/better than my brand name french press at home). I have noticed that when I put a lot of grounds in it for stronger coffee, the press can be hard to push down, even allowing some coffee to leak up through the outer seal of the press. This is a small issue that doesn't affect the coffee and I have yet to drink any grounds. This is a high quality mug that is half the price of a Yeti, won't leak, has the option of being a french press, and keeps coffee hot for hours. It certainly is worth 5 stars.

Rugged American Coffee Press
If there could be such a thing as an American Press coffee instead of a French Press, it would look like this blue collar coffee snob's travel press. You can toss it in a tool bag or tackle box and not have to carry it like a precious artifact. It's rugged and spill proof. Plus it keeps coffee HOT!. The only thing I wish were different is I wish the innards where made as solidly and of metal not plastic. A Stanley thermos should have the charm of a claw hammer, ruggedness of a tank and comfort of a log cabin fireside. This comes very close to that high standard.

Good for camping or travel.
I am mostly a fan. On the plus side, it holds temperatures extremely well. I recently tested it in 20 degree weather with hot tea and the beverage stayed hot for several hours. The stainless steel mug portion is also very durable. Finally, the mesh on the press is great and didn't leave any loose grounds in my coffee. I also found it relatively easy to rinse and clean. On the minus side, if you dont have the lid extremely tightly screwed on, it will leak. The lid is also awkward to use. The plastic french press portion feels flimsy and you do need to be careful to not exert too much force when pressing down your coffee grounds. For those using this for tea, I felt that the press was designed poorly. I had hoped that I could insert the press filter fully, put in my tea leaves, then add water and after brewing completed, that I could just lift the filter back out, straining out the tea leaves simply. Alas, the bottom walls of the plastic press are not deep enough to contain tea leaves... so close! How this product could be improved: Include the great 1 handed, no-drip lid that their coffee mugs have (those lids do not fit on this product). Have the base fit a bicycle water cage holder (or I wish someone would make a bicycle cage that would fit their products). The press to be made of sturdier plastic with a deeper well for straining tea leaves.Regardless of the perceived flaws, I did enjoy the product and would likely buy one again.

French Press For Coffee Fans While Camping, Traveling
French Press For Coffee Fans While Camping, TravelingAn incredible solution for the coffee connoisseur! My only reason for giving it four stars rather than 5 is that it doesn't allow for enough coffee to be brewed. The engineers behind this should have considered that anyone who would purchase such an item is a serious coffee enthusiast. And if that is a true statement, 10oz of finished, pressed coffee is simply not enough coffee for all the effort it takes to make it. The ROI is simply too little. It would be a SOLID 5 stars if the tumbler had at least a 20oz finished coffee capacity.Fortunately, pouring the first batch out into a cup and brewing a second to leave in the tumbler solves this problem. To see the process and additional equipment needed to make this a campers best solution, watch the video on YouTube - search for "Traveling French Press For Coffee Fans While Camping" by Talk2Giuseppe.

Best mug ever. Get one now. EDITED because it's become uglier
About 75% of the mug's powder coat has peeled off since I first reviewed this, so I've dropped my rating by one star to three. It remains the best travel mug I've ever used but the change to its appearance would probably be unacceptable to many purchasers.Original review: This is by far the best coffee mug I've had, and I've spent too much money in the search for the Holy Grai... sorry, perfect coffee mug. It is very well insulated, the press works like a charm with coffee and tea, whether loose leaf or in bags and the lid, which looks like it should be horribly clunky, is not (edited: it may be awkward if you have smaller hands) and is a pleasure to drink from. Every last bit of it is machine washable, unlike just about every other mug I've tried. Finally, at $22, instead of the more than C$50 I'd have to pay at St*r bucks here in Ottawa, it's a steal.

Top Notch Travel Press
This is my 3rd travel press and is BY FAR the best one I've ever owned. I have yet to get a solitary ground or coffee in my mouth, the contents stay hotter than hell for over two hours and it is super durable. Don't listen to the lame reviews of clutzes who have broken something on it or people complaining about something else. This company has been making world class thermoses for over a hundred years for a reason.
