If you are having people over and pasta is one of the dishes you plan to serve this brand is the only way to go. It is very expensive but it is all the difference in making a pasta dish company-worthy rather than everyday. I know it probably sounds gimmicky but the bronze die-cut really does make a difference in how well the sauce 'sticks' to the pasta. I personally prefer the texture and "chew" of the bucatini over say a thick spaghetti or linguine, but that is a matter of personal preference. Whatever your preferred shape/cut is I cannot recommend this highly enough to take a dish from ordinary to amazing. This is the difference between diner pasta and expensive Italian restaurant pasta. And yes, if you are wondering this is even better than the fresh you buy in the refrigerated section.

I bought this pasta because my mom who is 88 years old told me that this is the kind they used to have in my grandfather's Italian grocery store in the 30's and 40's. I ordered this pasta along with the penne. The taste is far superior to the dry pastas available in the grocery stores. I served this to go with my homemade tomato sauce that I spent 6 hours cooking one afternoon. It was very time consuming but so worth it. I love a thick pasta al dente and would recommend this product for an authentic taste of Italy.

This made outstanding pasta; I served it lightly dressed with just olive oil, cherry tomatoes, garlic and a bit of salt. It is expensive, but a nice treat now and then.

I would have given it a five if it was available in my corner grocery store and the price was a little bit less; otherwise its a fantastic bucatini great with heavily flavored tomato sauce
