I just bought this book used on Amazon and it has all the children of different races. After doing a little research I found that this was the first book to ever show children of different races playing together, neat! We've had an affinity for Gyo Fujikawa since we found a used counting book at our local thrift store in Germany, her illustrations are too sweet fro words! My almost 2 year old son loves looking at this book and pointing out what they are doing. he focuses mostly on all the hugs that are being shared. I like that it shows a baby growing from a newborn to a toddler and other children caring for them along the way. As a parent who wants to have more children, this is a wonderful image to share with my first child as there will be more to come in the future.A special thanks to Amazon for selling used book directly, it's nice to be able to buy a previously used book rather than a newly printed one. Ours has a darling inscription inside "to baby Georgia" I love that someone else may have loved this book just as much as we do!

This book is truly for Babies! All three of my kids had the same copy. I must have given it to my daughter when she had a baby as now that I have yet another grandchild, I am unable to find it... so I bought a new one. Arrived yesterday and my newest grandchild, 9 months, sat through the entire book! How great this is. All books by Gyo Fujikawa are wonder-full. We actually had this book for our children in the late 70s. The things our kids loved about it are still true - simple text describing beautiful illustrations of babies in all of their activities and moods, subtly multicultural. Our children loved paging through this board book until they were 3. Bought for our new grand-niece.

This is the perfect gift for a young baby/toddler. it. It is one of the baby gifts I always give and parents tell me their little ones love it!
