Great value. Quality products
Great Quality and good price. Make sure you spray it with some WD-40 when you put it together.

Almost perfect
This stand is a very good value, 4.5 stars from me as I needed the swivel base and overall wanted a sturdier stand than the one that came with my set. A Pearl branded stand of similar value and features would cost almost twice as much. The issue I had as others have mentioned is the clutch does eat into its 7mm rod and chew it up really fast. Although it holds well, I didn't want this to get worse so I ended up having to order the Gibraltar super clutch that grips the rod all the way around which seems to be a better solution. The super clutch also locks down with a set screw so it won't loosen where the cymbal is held, which is good since this original clutch came loose once when I was playing and dropped the top cymbal where it couldn't be lifted even though the clutch was still attached to the post. The weirdest part is that here on Amazon it is cheaper to buy a super clutch individually over the one that came with this hi hat stand. If Gibraltar would just include the super clutch to begin with this setup would be phenomenal and 5 stars, but a it's a little annoying I had to invest more since the hi hat rod is a softer metal than my older one which never got chewed up by a standard clutch. I like how the pedal is smooth with no rough edges to catch on your foot, and has a nice base for accommodating heel down playing too. The spring tension can also be adjusted though I feel like I didn't need to add any extra tension for a good feel.

Great hat stand. Two tiny issues.
Amazing for the price, this hat stand is very sturdy and well made. No squeaks or creaks. Two things that need improvement to make it a 5-star stand: the clutch just drives a screw into the shaft, lightly damaging the shaft every time the clutch is engaged. There should also be a plastic cymbal guard included for the top hat, as it rocks against bare threads if used straight out of the box. A cymbal guard is cheap to add since it's just a small plastic piece. Not sure how the clutch could be improved while also keeping cost down. Maybe a tension clamp design with the wing nut on the OD similar to how the main body tubing clamps together.

Good Quality... exactly as anticipated 👍🏾🎶
I would recommend this hi-hat stand for the quality and the fair price point. Overall it is well made, easy to assemble, and doesn't have ANY balance/stability issues. This held the hi-hat without any problems, no wobbly, I felt confident in the build quality. The pedal works great, there really is no real issues with this stand. I'm sure more experienced players may have their cons but this is really good for a beginner/intermediate level on a budget. I'd recommend, I hope this helps :)

High Quality and Smooth
As expected from Gibraltar - this is heavy-duty, well made, well thought out. Heavy base foot plate, detachable for screw-down options. Stand and leg bracings are solid. The adjustable leg swivel is very nice for fitting around a double-bass pedal and snare legs. The liquid action on the pedal stroke doesn't necessarily feel a lot different from a normal, direct-pull stand - except I find it has a bit more 'push back' or 'push up' tension. Really just a little toe lift will get you easy finesse on hi-hat work. I'm a heel-up drummer - so this feature helps a good deal with hi-hat footwork. I noticed that difference immediately. The stand is, again, a very top-notch product - all features available. Not too bad on setup / assembly time - and you're ready to go.

Light and sturdy and affordable
light weight and works great. the only thing is the legs do not rotate so using it with a double kick set up might be tough. currently not a problem for me but if i switched I would need to change back to another stand. this is howeever light and sturdy. used it for over 60 shows this summer set up and tear down and traveled well. much smaller footprint also which is nice on tigh stages. I have the spring set to the maximum tension so if you had 15" hats or really really heavy hats i would test it out ourself. but it is MUCH cheaper than the other flat base stands so I love it.

Great for Double Pedals! 10/10 would bang
I purchased this stand after a collective decade of postponing. I had my previous stand for far too long and I needed an upgrade. Very pleased with this product! I would use the term "Liquid" throughout the entire description, but, for reduncies sake, I'll spare you. Liquid; as in, every moving part on this stand is flawless, very well made, structurally sound, and perfect for my playing style. I've got Axis A-21 Laser (Giant) double pedals, as well as the Pearl PD-120P pedals. They both fit perfect under the adjustable tripod. Perfect, controlled, highly responsive feel. (Playing Zildjian Avedis Custom 14" hi-hats (fairly heavy))

It's nice, but...
While there are a couple of features about this stand that are really cool...(the highly adjustable rod and post, along with the price point below $100), there's a couple that are really not. I think the idea of the rod being incredibly adjustable is unique and all, but seriously... once you find a setting that works for you, do you change it often, if at all? (I like my hi hat cymbals about 29" from the floor, give or take an inch) The selling point of the adjustable rod is its own detriment. It makes the action of the pedal sluggish, if not downright slow. The other thing I don't like about this stand, is that the pedal goes all the way to the floor, and strikes the metal plate, making an annoying "clunk" sound. I bought this stand to go with a Gretch set I recently acquired, having read several negative reviews about the lower priced Gretch stand. I returned the pedal (thank you Amazon for your awesome return policy!) and will order a more expensive Pearl for $140. I've used and abused Pearl for over 30 years, and it has held up wonderfully and still looks great.
