I also have a creative soundblaster vx 5.1 but this one sounds naturally better (also because of the 24bit/192Khz option). Also it is louder in headphone setting than speakers setting because of the amp. There are three settings (low/mid/high) for the headphone amplifier output. My 50watt speakers are loudest so far due to the amp output. You can go for it, its the best sound card in budget.

The sound quality is very good you can hear every footstep. I brought this because after long use my HyperX fury headphones sounds got very slow so I used it as a solution rather than buying a new headphone of same price. It would be better if it is priced under 2500.

Do not buy this product. They are selling warranty expired product. My card's SPDIF stopped working within 15 months of buying the card. The ASUS acrd used to have 3 years of warranty. When I registered the card with ASUS, it was showing the card as expired , with the expired date even prior to purchase date !!

Quality audio experience. Pure detailed audio.. Don't hesitate... Worth every penny...

Good for headphones but not supported on 5.1 home theater. Produces weird sound on my 5.1. I want to return but this item says cannot return per Amazon policy. Better try creative ones. They sent a defective one and just got it replaced after a month and it worked amazingly.
