Great chopper
You will need to be In for delivery, as they need to verify your age, but otherwise great axe.Handle has just the right amount of grip, great shape and length for me (normally proportioned 6’ male). Whilst there had clearly been some shifting around during the delivery and the retaining ties snapped, the axe was in good condition, and the blades extra transit protection kept it from getting damaged or blunted.Blade was sharp to the touch, enough for an axe anyways, and usually everything inspected well.In use I wondered whether I wanted a heavier axe to begin with, but after four and a half hours use in the first session appreciated the weight and balance. It can even be used single handed for those smaller pieces. Flys through dry and damp / wet wood.Recommended.

Absolutely brilliant for the price
Let me start by saying that I restore axes and log splitters for a hobby I wanted something light because as a large bloke I like my axes heavy. This isn't heavy but is yet more than capable! It's got a lovely handle, rub some oil and it's set to go. The axes head looks fairly robust. It's not easy to jam and when it does it comes off easy because its small and light. I've done Holly tree trunks half a meter in diameter and half a meter in height. For most logs this is more than enough and easier to use than larger ones. The only thing I can't comment on is longevity but it doesn't look like it will fall apart any time soon.

it's not an axe, it's a maul!
Game changer! fantastic maul, good weight, easy to use once you get use to swinging it. cut all of our logs into a perfect size for our wood burner.Strong, easy to grip, splits the wood in one swing. Not a lot of effort needed. Highly recommended!

It splits wood.. it really does.
Nothing like chopping stuff up, really good axe, Good weight, nice balance, fabulous for dismemberment. Even keeps its edge when you get a bit of concrete. You could probably use this for hours of murderous fun without getting tired. :)

Works a treat
I've now used this splitting maul to split a load of ash and oak, and it's worked perfectly.I find it very comfortable to hold and use. It's not too heavy and the handle is shaped well.It split the green ash and oak effortlessly, even going through knots without any problem.Just be aware this is a splitting maul, not a sharp axe for felling. At just over £35 I think this is worth every penny.I hope you find my review helpful.

Great quality
The media could not be loaded. Great quality axe, feels amazing in the hand and very good weight. Not super sharp but it doesn’t need to be for log splitting. Handle is lovely wood and it performs well in splitting logs - good value for money. Not super versatile as you couldn’t use it for chopping a tree but that is not it’s purpose! Just bear in mind that generally hard wood gets harder to chop as it dries out and soft wood gets easier so it might be a bit of a workout to split kiln dried/seasoned hard wood.
