Croakies Eyewear Retainer is made of high quality neoprene and hyPUR-cel material that is durable, sweat resistant, and secures your eyewear through everyday adventures. This eyewear retainer strap is designed to fit a frame arm size upto 1/4 inch wide. The stylish solid color design is perfect for a trendy look wherever you go. The Croakies glasses strap has a backstitching technique used to prevent threads from unraveling. The eyewear retainer strap is colorfast and washable. The original Neoprene Eyewear Retainer -- patented in 1978 -- remains one of Croakies' most popular models. Made of snug-fitting, grippy neoprene material, its ends tightly grip your frames, so while you may lose yourself in your favorite activity, your glasses will remain securely strapped to your head. Details Made of durable HyPUR-cel neoprene Colorfast and washable Two inches of adjustment Fits most frames Made in the USA About Croakies In 1977, a local ski patrolman from Jackson Hole Mountain Resort in Wyoming came up with an idea for an eyewear retainer that would grip his shades through all kinds of alpine adventures. Using an old wetsuit and some sharp scissors, he made the first pair of eyewear retainers. The ingenious device was based on the design of a Chinese finger trap, and quickly became a hit with local ski patrolers. Demand picked up quickly for the patrolman's invention, which was initially nameless. Back in the seventies, the Jackson Hole ski patrol used the nickname "croakies" when they couldn't think of a word (think "thing- amajig"), but it finally stuck on the world'd first neoprene eyewear retainer. Croakies headquarters are still in Jackson Hole, with production in Bozeman, Montana. The inspiration remains the same -- to create eyewear retainers and accessories that provide comfort, style, durability, and functionality to active people of all ages. Croakies products are sold by retailers throughout the United States and in over 30 countries around the world. They've even been used out of this world, having become standard issue on the Space Shuttle in 1990.

Quality product with a caveat
This frame-holder is made of high-quality materials and stitched extremely well. However, the opening for the arms of your glasses frames is SO tight, it will not fit ANY type of arms thicker than a standard thin wire-type frame. I have a thicker, plastic-frame arm and my glasses don't have a dream of fitting into these tiny, itty-bitty tubes. I tried stretching the holes and was unsuccessful (this is how I discovered just how well-made this product is).It turns out I'm still able to use this product successfully -- I tied knots at the ends around the arms of my glasses in order to secure them to my head. This actually ended up working very well -- in fact they did not slip once!! (Sucess!!!) But, if you have ANY TYPE of plastic frame with an arm that is NOT skinny, PLEASE beware -- these will likely not fit your frame arms in exactly the way they are built to.

Retainer Conservation
Recently I had cataract surgery in both eyes. My distance vision is now good, but I need reading glasses to read and "computer glasses" when I use my computer. Problem is that I keep misplacing my glasses. I remembered some of my favorite teachers had a cord around their neck to keep their reading glasses close. My search was interesting. I had no idea the amount of choices available for eyeglass retainers. When I noticed that Croakies offered retainers where some of the price is donated to conservation of American rivers, I was hooked. The Croakies "American Rivers" Eye Wear Retainers are very attractive. They have a broad neck band that is very comfortable to wear and it has a colorful picture symbol that advertises the cause of conservation. The retainer holds the glasses firmly in place.I found only one slight problem with these retainers. The overall length is too short for my long term use. The glasses rest just below my neck and I need to stretch the cord a bit to move them to my eyes. They are still very useful, but I would prefer a greater length (and length was not specified in the advertising).I recommend Croakies American River eyeglass retainers - especially for their conservation stand.

Great way to not lose your sunglasses!
I bpught these for a family member whom works as a supervisor to over 200 lifeguards at a popular amusement park with a large water section. He says the Croakies help him keep up with his costly sunglasses, and instead of tossing his glasses to the side and then having to find them (many times on bottom of pool), he just leaves them on or slides them down to his chest. If they do come off he likes that they float. He istrying to get management to order one for each guard.

MY FAVORITE EYEGLASS RETAINER!!
I must have purchased 20-30 different products that would keep my eyeglasses from falling off of my face and either breaking or getting lost. This is the BEST! The most comfortable, easiest to use, and nicest looking piece. I had these darned tails sticking down, had to use barbie pins, etc. This fits perfectly and is so comfortable. I must have spent $60-80 on these items, until I found these Croakies and I must say, I AM TRULY EXCITED about these!! ENJOY!! THANK YOU!!

Tuff to get on
Depending on your eyeglasses it can very tuff to get these installed. However after a bit of stretching, squeezing and pulling I was able to get both sides on the glasses. Once they are on they are great. They do hold the glasses at the right height to catch any dropped food particles.

Bought this to go white water rafting in Iceland. We didn't go overboard - the boat in front of us did. However, I felt that my glasses were very secure with this retainer. Folks asked me where I got it and wished they had one also. Great price - came quickly for my trip.

Love my croakies!
I do admit that it takes a little work to get the croakies onto your glasses/sunglasses originally, however once they are on they are a great product! I love that they have a message as well and it adds a little flair to the product. After losing $200 sunglasses these were a great investment and you can wear them everywhere!
