Lightweight, powerful enough, versatile! If you have the set and need a jigsaw for occasional use, DO IT!
I have most of the items in the Matrix set: The vacuum, the hedge clipper, the weed eater, the mini-saw, the impact driver/drill, the mini-router, and now this. This is the best tool I've bought for this set. It's great for those times when I want to do some small trims and don't have room for (or just don't want to break out) my big Makita jigsaw. I used it to cut part of a countertop, very thick 1" old-school plywood, and it cut an amazingly straight line and hardly even chipped the paint. I'm sure it had something to do with my skill level (ha ha). All in all, like others say, this might not be a professional-quality tool meant for daily heavy-duty use, but I definitely got excellent results from it. I think this set--and this tool in particular--are must-haves for those of us who don't always need huge, heavy tools to do the job. I have had no problem using it with U and T blades. I'm so glad I bought it!

Great attachment for 20v Matrix Drill
I got this for my 20v Matrix Drill and it is super easy to use. The saw comes with a small teethed blade and a keyless locking mechanism, you can also use any small regular jigsaw blade with this (if you need to jigsaw in other materials). The drill does a great job and the blade and is super fast and makes a nice guided cut when using it. The drill does feel awkward holding this compared to a regular jigsaw, but for small quick tasks this is a great choice. The metal guide plate is easy to follow and heavy duty so you can quickly make a perfect cut, the engine is strong enough to get through most things with no problem and as long as you have a nice flat surface the jigsaw cuts into the material perfectly. I am very happy with this and using the Matrix system is much easier than maintaining a shed full of clunky tools, I just have the one drill and the attachments for when I need them.

Finally Broke It
Good golly, the things I did to this little jig saw. It just wasn't fair I tell you! I've cut three foot circles in half inch plywood, cut plumbing and conduit, floor boards and trim. I even cut HVAC vents because I didn't have a tin cutter, and the doggone thing just took the beating. I'm a very bad person when it comes to tools. So after five years of abuse (I got mine with my Craftsman version of the drill when it first came out) it finally gave up the ghost. Trimming shiplap boards for a ceiling while they were perched on a folding chair, the board chattering up and down with the action of the saw blade, not wanting to be cut in spite of my yelling and swearing. Alas, the poor thing could take it no more. The drill motor kept turning, but the blade didn't move. It was done. My boy looked at me and said, "you broke it" and I replied, "no son, it isn't broken. It's surrendered. It's given its life for me, and the projects I've brought it to. We can ask no more of it. Let us pause for a moment to consider all it has done." I tried to decide if I wanted to purchase another, or go with a legit standalone jig saw, with the extra cost and extra storage and likely one more battery model to deal with. Then I looked here on Amazon and saw what I paid for this thing -- $19.99 and free shipping -- and I clicked the Buy-It-Now button. What a trooper for just a double-saw!

Convenient and works great
I was a bit skeptical about a jig saw that fit on a drill handle but this thing works well. The no-tool blade attachment is very intuitive and easy to access and use. It fits standard blades (so far I've only tried Bosch T-Shank blades but I believe you can also use U-Shank blades) and it comes packaged with a fine tooth blade, which works though the metal is a bit thin. The saw attachment feels solid and so far, it performs well. The only complaint is that it vibrates a good bit until the cut gets underway. Its easy to snap on and off the handle and has plenty of power (I have the 20v) though I've only cut some decorative trim and some relatively thin wood. The weight of the jig saw attachment and the battery on the base balances the tool so it is easy to use and control. It won't replace a standard jig saw if you plan on using it for extended periods of time or for professional use but its great to have for around the house especially since it's cordless.

Best attachment yet!
I was seriously disappointed with the trim saw attachment for the matrix. It was horribly underpowered for cutting 0.75" thick wood and the blade would stop in the middle of a job. Anyway, This jigsaw replaces the trimsaw for me. It is much more precise, easy to re-start in the middle of a cut, and is the easiest blade change I've ever seen. PROs: - Simple blade change - Powerful (20v) - Cuts wood and metal - Accepts all T-shank blades (most common) and also U-shank blades - one of the least expensive attachments!!! CONs: Included blade is not the best and only one kind is included, but blades are cheap. TIP: I bought a few bosch wood blades for this saw. It makes it cut twice as fast and clean. I'm no carpenter but just got an ~$11 blade kit and the tool rocks twice as much!

Perfect Attachment
This is a good attachment to have for the black and decker matrix. Blade changes can be done within a few seconds. I bought this matrix drill with most of the attachments to place in a work bag and have it in my truck. Having a bunch of different tools like the jig saw, drill, trim saw ETC in a bag is awesome to have because you never know when you might need power tools. I used to find myself always having a drill but I needed a jig saw or a trim saw however I always hated carrying around a bunch of individual tools that can only serve one purpose. Now because of the matrix, I can now have a variety of power tools in a small bag. I wouldn’t recommend using these attachments to do big jobs. It could be done but the purpose I like to use it for is quick small jobs either around the house or wherever. I would recommend this product to everyone.
