Excellent book from someone that REALLY knows the subject
Buy this book! Brien has written yet another GREAT book. This author is an authority on all megalithic things in Peru/Bolivia. He lives in PERU! I had the great honor of meeting him last year in Peru. If you do not know about Tiwanaku or Puma Punku you NEED to read this book. Brien takes the time to dig deep and follow the oral traditions of every subject he discusses. He doesn't merely regurgitate the accepted "facts". He goes to these places with geologists and engineers. Well worth the money and then some.

KINDLE FIRE VERSION OF THIS BOOK
I ENJOY SEEING ANCIENT STONE WORKS THAT LOOK TECHINAL AND MADE BY UNKNOWN PEOPLE. ON KINDLE-FIRE, THE PICTURES ARE IN HIGH DEFINITION. I LIKED THIS BOOK SO WELL THAT I READ IT ALL IN THREE TIMES OF TURNING THE READER ON.I RECOMMEND IT FOR ADULTS THAT QUESTION THE ACCEPTED HISTORY THAT WE HAVE BEEN TAUGHT FOR A HUNDRED YEARS AND MORE.IT IS WRITTEN MORE DOWN TO EARTH THEN THE ANCIENT ALIEN HISTORY VERSION TELEVISION SERIES.

Enigma Indeed!
This book raises many difficult questions, but offers little in the way of answers. The evidence seems to point towards an advanced civilization with machine technology the existed more than 10,000 years ago possibly going back even more than 15,000 years! Apparently there was a great flood or combination of catastrophic events which destroyed the civilization prior to the last Great Ice age. That is why so little was left behind except the remnants found at Puma Punku and Tiwanaku. Fascinating Reading! Very thought provoking!

I as hoping for more than a history lesson
If you're just getting interested in the culture or the architecture of the period this is a good book for you. If you're looking for more than the basics and maybe a little more meaning and a little less text book, then there are better choices out there.

Don't buy this book.
The number of misspellings are too numerous to enumerate. And the non-sequiturs lead nowhere. How did this get published in this sorry state?

ebook version
I really wanted to buy a paperback of the book to give to my son for his travels. This is OK, but an actual book would have been better. It doesnt rely on power, which isnt really suitable for backpacking in remote areas. I would have liked the option of buying an actual (rather than virtual) visitor's guide to take to South America.

FANTASTIC
A MARVELOUS AND INFORMATIVE VIEW TO ONE OF THE FEW UNKNOWN LOCATIONS ON EARTH, POSSIBLY DUE TO ITS ELEVATION, WHICH IS ABOVE 10,000 FEET. I SO WANT TO JOURNEY THERE AND SEE FOR MYSELF THESE GIGANTIC RUINS AND WITH LUCK BE VISITED BY PAST OR PRESENT SPIRITS.

No photos of the H blocks
How can you write a book about Puma Punku without photographs of the H-blocks? Honestly, I gave this as a gift and the recipient said "Where are the H-block pictures?" What a disappointment.

A riveting read about the amazing archaeological sites of Tiwanaku and Puma Punku
Brien Foerster does it again! A riveting read about the amazing archaeological sites of Tiwanaku and Puma Punku. More than ever this makes me want to visit the sites in person and learn more about them.

Interesting.
For this price, is an interesting acquisition. I'm not the fan number one of Brien Foerster, but this Tiwanaku and Puma Punku album (because is an album more than a book) is pretty beautiful.
