Newport Vessels Trolling Motor Battery Cable Extension Kit

Cable’s work great with Minn Kota Battery box with little tweak. Minn Kota Batter Box red positive stud is 3/8" diameter and the black negative stud is 5/16" diameter. Both ends on theses cables are meant to fit over ONLY a 5/16 stud. I chose to cut the end of the Red positive Cable to fit over/on the Positive terminal on the Minn Kota Battery box. Easy fix. If your handy you can also cut off the end & mount a open end or close end 3/8 connector. I fed mine thru my Kayak Hull & mounted them to ,Upeor 5/16” Stud Premium Remote Battery Power Junction Post Connector Terminal Kit witch is here on Amazon. Makes it really clean & easy way to attach my Minn Kota motor.

The Minnkota Battery Box has a larger positive terminal than its negative. If buying this Extension Cable to extend from your Minnkota Battery Box you will have to manipulate the positive side of the cable to fit the battery box. I clipped it with a small pair of clipping pliers from a "O" shape to a "C" shape (see image for details). It worked just fine after that and took less than 5 min to complete.

this allowed me to shift some weight forward and help balance the boat better. 15' jon boat with 25 hp electric start and stern mounted trolling motor and me all in the back wasn't working well. I moved the two batteries forward with the extensions. much better now. easy to couple to existing battery leads with supplied nuts and bolts and waterproof tape. everything worked as it should. fair price and fast shipping

Used this to run through my kayak to mount battery at the front - worked perfect i cut the ends and attached grommets and quick connects looks great too

Worked to get my batter in the front of 14 ft boat to help get on plain better The wire seems to be of quality and it works for its intended use I ended up cutting the one end off and putting a Atwood plug. In my case this was going to be used as a permanent fix. If your also looking to do something permanent I would recommend just buying wire and making everything your self but if you wanna hook something up that can be taken off this wood be a great thing.

It made moving batt. around boat very easy ,and no messing around with making up your own cables. Easy to hook up.Used shrink wrap to cover open ends where rings are . Well worth the money for time saved and ease of use .

This was a great value! Came with everything I needed to install on my trolling motor to my battery box. Both ends fit perfectly on my battery box I did not have to cut anything. The cords were easy to tape up. I love how easy this was however I think they are a little pricey but not too bad.

Fantastic quality you get what you pay for. Steep price tag but again YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. Worked great and super happy with the quality wish price was a little lower but for a 3rd time you get what you pay for.

As others have noted the red O-clip doesn't quite fit on the positive battery box terminal. Instead of snipping it and turning it into a C-clip I decided to use a Dremel-like tool with a cone shaped grinding stone to enlarge the opening slightly. I used the grinding stone for just a few seconds at a time (to ensure I didn't make the hole too large/outer ring too thin) and after 3 times it fit snugly. You can hardly tell the difference when comparing the black and red clips which is great as I was worried about it making it too thin and impacting the integrity. It works great - I just wish it wasn't as pricey. There are cheaper alternatives but they are smaller than 8 gauge so I didn't want to take a chance with such.

There is nothing wrong with this product. Its better then the wires coming out of the trolling motor. Which makes me wonder why they havent switched to the coating on the wire for the extensions.Great, product. Always use brass for connections.Happy fishing! Or project your doing.
