Works on writers too
I live in the country up in the mountains and we have bears that visit twice a year. I have chickens up here and I also have a deck and I feed birds. When the bear came by I used to use a shotgun with rubber bullets but that makes a hell of a noise and a bad idea at night. So I decided to look for An alternative and this is what I came up with. It is the perfect deterrent. While I'll still carry my 9 mm Clock for absolute safety, hitting a bear or other critter With 1 of these works very well. What's most important is it's nonlethal Because I don't want to wound them as with a gun. Having a wounded critter up here is not a good idea so this really did the trick. One nasty pepper ball and that's it. Bear spray requires too close of distance and is not accurate. The pepper ball shoots far away. The fact it is also a light in the same hand is brilliant. I did have to re-aim the laser and it ended up ok but at its limit. Good engineering guys! Works perfectly. Important note: the CO2 will leak out if you break the seal by firing. To have it long term ready, load the pepper balls and the CO2 cartridge but DONT fire it until you actually need to.

Convenient Security
Well built and looks like a big flashlight. The triangular shape with rounded corners is very ergonomic. My laser sight was slightly off but that’s an easy fix: clamp it down (a vice with a towel or a clamping style shooting bag / rest works) and point the laser at a small spot on the target 15 feet away. Fire one shot, make sure the device is still clamped and the laser is aimed at the same small spot, then adjust the laser with the small Allen screws so it moves to the center of the actual impact. It is sighted in at this point, but take a test shot.

Either I got a bod one, or these are not made very durably
The ring you use to tighten the CO2 cartridge chamber snapped off in my fingers before the cartridge tip was even pierced. The CO2 cartridge was correctly inserted, and the threads were perfectly aligned; this was NOT user error, this is just an example of quality. I am not a negative review type person, but Self defense is an important matter, and if you are trusting your safety to a device, that device needs to be of the highest quality. Now I have no idea how this thing WOULD HAVE performed, because ring they installed for tightening the CO2 chamber wasn't solid state enough to work even once. It doesn't bode well, but I cannot remark on the operation of the firing mechanism. The light and laser do work as you'd expect; thats something I guess. Since it has a laser, I'll just have t consider this the worlds most overpriced cat toy.

Simply the best flashlight pepperball launcher available!
Ingenious design with a powerful flashlight and pepperball launcher. High quality construction and well balanced in the hand. Accurate laser targeting. Operation of the safety slide switch is user friendly, activating the laser sight and exposing the pepperball trigger when switched open - a very safety minded design.I am very satisfied with my purchase and highly recommend it.

faulty!
8th inert shot blew up in tube and went all down hill from there. emptied to dry fire gunk out. light green grease spurted out 9th dry fire shot with sputtering. did not fire 10th attempt. Cleaned out and trouble shoot device. put fresh Co2 and did not fire. Seal sounds like it has a slight slow leak. Only good as a flashlight and laser pointer at the moment. Seems unreliable. Going to attempt to get it replaced. hopefully a reliable working one i need for deliveries.Apologies for late update: Seller refunded me upon item return. Tho I’m not considering repurchasing that particular model. Giving it a 2 star from a 1 star due to customer service.

All the bells and whistles
The "pepper ball" self protection field is full of products right now. Most look like pistols, some look very much like pistols. That creates a problem as someone may think you are using a firearm and counter the threat with deadly force. Most of these pistol type launchers have the ability to add a laser sight for an extra cost. They may also have the ability to add a weapon light at an extra cost. Most of these pistol launchers have the ability to stage the weapon with a CO2 cartridge, un-punctured, and only require a pull of the trigger to activate. Some require you tighten a piercing screw. From what I have seen only one does not look like a firearm, has an integrated laser sight, has an integrated weapon light, and can be staged indefinitely with a CO2 cartridge in it. That weapon is the LifeLite PepperBall Launcher. The launcher flys under the radar as it looks like, and is, a large flashlight (350 lumens). It has a lanyard to aid carrying it. If needed for self protection a slide of the safety activates the laser sight and a push down of the "trigger" activates the CO2 cartridge and fires PepperBall rounds, up to five, one with each push down of the trigger.I found the launcher to be very accurate giving me a 1.5" group at 30'. The launcher has an effective range of 60' allowing you to distance yourself from the threat. The balls hit hard and the impact alone will have most threats rethinking their decision but the PepperBall powder is released in a 12' cloud the interrupts sight and breathing, burns the skin and causes intense irritation of all mucus linings in the respiratory system.Negatives-It is large and heavy, it may be a handful for someone with small hands. Two hand grip to fire and lots of practice will solve that. The red laser is not easy to see in daylight. It will require practice to make point of aim shots, or learn to walk the laser dot up to the target. Good for home, camping, boating, RV, trucking or walking the dog at night. Carrying a large black flashlight looking devise, downtown in broad daylight may raise some eyebrows. Backpack, handbag, or messenger type bag would be needed for that use.I trust this launcher more everyday I practice with it. It is an excellent option for anyone looking for non lethal effective protection. Great value for money, quality made, and all the bells and whistles, buy one.

This could leave a mark!
You know when the dentist says ; This might pinch a little! Well I tested this using the chalk balls on a wooden gate from 20' and it dented the wood :)Like a gun it needs to be held steady, I found pressing down on the trigger caused my hand to move and it hit about 12" to the right of where I had aimed, again this was from 20'.The safety can be moved to either side so you can fire it left or right handed :)
