I bought this for my sister to measure her newborn. It works fairly good, can measure body temperature as well as object temperature.I tried it myself and I think the accuracy is around 0.1-0.5 degrees. Measure 3 times, first time it was 36.4F, second time 36.1F, third time was 36.5F. If you want a really accurate thermometer, I guess just gotta go with the mercury thermometer.I first thought it would have a laser pointer so I would know which object it's pointing to, but this one doesn't come with laser pointer (a bit disappointed).

I got this to replace my old thermometer; the old style thermometer that puts under ur tongue and wait few minutes for result, this is so much nicer, convenient, reliable and easy to read. You can measure temperature when child is asleep. The only thing I don’t like it’s that doesn’t come with batteries, like other reviewers mentioned, it would be nice if the batteries are included. Other than this, I’m happy with this purchase.

It is super easy to use and even my little ones can pull the trigger to get temperatures. However its slightly off by one degree when taking your body temp. Wish there was a way to calibrate it so that you could get an exact 98.6 reading. Tested it out a couple of times and stuck a note on the handle that all readings needed to add one degree to whatever the temperature reading is, so that nanny, or babysitters would know when using it.

Nice quality. if my kids get sick,they alway have fever, so I need one good thermometer.i recommends this one.

This thermometer works perfectly for its intended purpose. in addition, its range allows other related uses. There were other thermometers listed that cost considerably more. This one fit into my already strained budget, with the best feature being it's accurate. I would recommend this to anyone.

Please note the product doesn't have battery included. With battery, it works! This is different from traditional temperature meter. It doesn't need to touch your body. Just near your body, or forehead, it will give you a temperature. It's really easy and convenient!

Does not work for animals as specified

This thermometer seems to work, within a range, for taking a dog's temperature. The most accurate areas (in terms of giving me the same or close to same reading) for taking my dog's temperature is on the tummy or under lips. In a healthy dog, I got readings of 100.2 (belly), 100.8 (belly) and 101.3 (under lips). When I tried the ear, I got widely variable readings. The instruction sheet requires some patience to fully understand the use of the thermometer and it does not give any real guidance for animals, although it is listed as appropriate for use with animals on the Amazon website. The up side is that once you know how to use it, you can get a temp. reading quite quickly and with very little disturbance to the animal (or human). Some reviewers mentioned that they thought this was cheaply made. The plastic casing is thin, but it seems to be assembled tightly and to house the working parts adequately. If you have many animals (or people) to test, this might not hold up but I think it is sturdy enough for home use.
