Hodge Silk Oboe Swab - Black

It works. I like the strings on both ends. I just got my oboe today so I finally got to use my swab. It can pull through the fully assembled horn with no issues. The string at both ends would let me maneuver the swab if it did get stuck.

This swab is just what I needed for my oboe. Having the string on both ends is helpful in case you need to back the swab out of the instrument the way it went in. The tapered shape makes it less likely to bunch up and get stuck. Quality material and very absorbent.

My original pull through that was made of cotton lost it's aglet on on the end. It works well as a full pull through for my oboe. The aglet has an extra shrink wrapped part to help secure it. I like it better than the one that I had with a ball chain as this one does not coil in the neck of the instrument. Overall, good quality for the price and it gets the job done.

Works good and gets the job done, but after some time the thread starts fraying.

Great swab for the upper body of the instrument, but not so much for the lower part.

I bought it to replace my old swab which has fallen apart already. Although slightly smaller than my old one, it does the job well. The blue colour looks good as well.
