I have never had a diamond stone before but I really like the size and grit for putting in my pack for a quick rough sharpening when I'm in the woods, and more recently I've been using it to reshape some cheap lockpicks and smooth them out. I don't know what to think of the handle loop on the back. I definitely find it useful but I wonder how it will hold up long term. Since I bought this I've gotten several other diamond stones for my knife sharpening system and I am definitely convinced of their usefulness.

Works well but is not completely flat. There were several rough spots that have not worn down yet.

SHARPAL diamond plates are of good quality. This intermediate grit is the perfect addition to their sturdy handle sharpener, and the small size is convenient for adding to a small knife sharpening kit.

I'm glad with what Sharpal has done here. I use this Dimond stone sharpener very often and I get a good edge every time.

I really like this sharpener. The thumb ring on the back gives you good hand hold on the card and allows you to swipe your blade without the risk of hitting your fingers. The card I purchased is 600 grit, and made quick work of sharpening the blade in my Gerber multi-tool. The unit seems very well made, and the storage pouch is a nice addition. The actual sharpener measures .144" thick x 2.137" wide x 3.282" long and weighs 54.1 grams (1.90 oz). Inserted into the storage pouch, the unit measures .225" thick x 2.41" wide x 3.77" long and weighs 62.8 grams (2.21 oz). It fits nicely into a Maxpedition Strobe/Compass pouch, along with my Altoids-sized tinder kit (see photo). I am very satisfied with this product and would not hesitate to purchase another, or one of the other abrasive grit sizes !

I purchased this sharpener to keep in my bug out bag for touching up my knife when needed. I can’t attest to the long term durability of this product as it is in my bag for emergency use. The mirror is a nice touch and can be used for signaling and regular camp use. It is very flat and can be easily stored in a hiking bag or even a pocket. It seems like a good value for the money.
