Update: the over-complicated button assembly broke entirely after 7 months. Also, there appears to be no way to disassemble the lid for cleaning, so that mold will be an inevitable issue.I was worried about buying this product because I suspected most of the reviews thus far have been fake, and because most of the reviewers were given the product for free. But I like it. Although the description for the 40oz caraff doesn't mention it, it does have the integrated strainer in the lid assembly plus the tea infuser screen that sits down in the bottle (just like the screen inside my dishwasher, actually). This makes it ideal for a daily French press pour-up container, since it catches microfines when pouring. The top is wide enough for a pour-over unit like the Clever or Bonavida (which I have), though it will slide around because these have flat bottoms. There's a good deal of plastic around the top and the lid is plastic, so it's a bit industrial and not a display item. For that, I have the Emsa Eleganza. The push button on top works, but I'm not sure for how long: the internal assembly rattles and the plastic button doesn't inspire much confidence. Sometimes the inner works don't seem to catch all the way, so that I have to tip it greater than 90 degrees to get any liquid out, and it sort of comes out fitfully in a prostate-problem sort of way. Then the next time, it will pour more freely. It's also inevitable that, after clicking the spout closed again after pouring, some liquid will remain in the spout. I don't see a way around that for any such product. But there are no drips when tilting it with the spout closed, and I'd be fine taking it on a picnic where it may be transported on its side, for instance. Coffee stays hot for a few hours, even though I fill it only half way (how many negative reviews about heat retention on various pots are from people who fill it halfway with room temperature air?). If you want all-day piping hot, I've read the Zujirushi is the way to go. The strainers make this a great versitile pot for immersion brewing, loose-leaf tea, or anything else. However, the tea strainer would only really be useful for making 40oz of hot tea, since the infuser sits in the top of the caraff. So, I doubt I'll ever use it. The lid strainer works well for French Press.

I'm totally rewriting my review and giving more stars. First, it was not clear this keeps higher temp if you pre-heat it or keep it full. Which is hard to keep it full if you are drinking the tea.BUT I really like this after 15 months. Although I don't use it in warmer weather. It's been great to keep herbal teas hot for many hours in a cold room. It's easy to use, no mold problems, lightweight and easy to use. I drink at least one full carafe per day, but sometimes I fill and drink three times a day. Helps keep me hydrated and eating less. Plus helps keep me a bit warmer for a few minutes.This Thermal TEA Carafe rocks my world!

I have been brewing coffee in a French Press & needed a carafe to keep the coffee hot. When I got the Hastings "carafe" I tried brewing coffee as instructed. It took me 2 tries to get the amount of grind right. Now 30g of fresh ground coffee, fill the pot with hot water, wait 5 minutes and pour great hot coffee. I have put my French Press away. The Hastings carafe brews coffee better that the Press & is a breeze to clean up. I am completely sold on this Hasting product.

My husband got one first and uses it every day; he got me one which I love so much that I just bought a 2nd one to take to work and use there every day! It keeps my tea hot for hours & with a removable infuser, I don't have to worry about more delicate teas over-brewing and getting bitter.

This carafe was such an excellent value and it served us really well for almost a year...then it molded! I opened it one day to find that the mesh insert was covered in mold, and the plastic parts smelled of mold as well. We are very clean people and take good care of our stuff, especially cooking items as we are very health conscious. So it was a shock to have this happen. Perhaps it's just a one-off occurrence, but buyer beware!

This carafe is exactly what I was looking for. It keeps my beverages warm and looks stylish. The wood handle is a nice touch and very comfortable in the hand.

Product works well enough, it accomplishes what it's intended to do. No glaring issues, but it's constructed poorly. Handle is not sturdy and almost feels like its going to fall off. The release button on top to control the pour works so-so.

I bought this to make tea once in the morning to keep warm all day at my desk instead of having to walk (far) to pantry to make new tea every couple hours but it only keeps warm for a couple hours.
