I've had 3 of these refurbished Dell Optiplex units. 2 of them died before they were 2 years old. One is still going after 5 years. The key is to understand what these are. They are used units that have been cleaned up and checked to verify that they work as of the date of sale. Most likely they were previously stuffed under someone's desk; running anywhere between 8 and 24 hrs a day for several years. Probably never cleaned, with dust building up on the internal components and holding heat. Motherboards do not last forever, especially not these mass market budget grade ones. Sooner or later some component, usually a capacitor, will fail. The cost to diagnose and repair will be more than the value of the unit. The fact that they were previously in extended service increases the likelihood that this failure will occur sooner rather than later. The good news is the SSD or HDD is usually not affected and data can be transferred to a new unit. So buyer beware. The price is good but the lifespan may be less than you expect.
