Stainless Steel Spice Tin Base, 12" X 24" for Magnetic Spice Tins, Spice Rack

Excellent board, perfect for the application. Our neodymium magnets stick to it really well. We needed drywall anchors and bigger screws, because we put our spices in mason jars and those are heavy. The board was packed well, with a protective film on the front side and is holding up well so far.

These are doing the job just fine so far. I was a bit disappointed with the packaging as its simply thick cardboard folded around the stainless sheets. My two came packaged together and one had a crumpled corner as a result of the package obviously being dropped at some point. A small bit of foam or even thick paper at the ends would have easily prevented this at negligible cost to the shipper. We were able to straighten it out enough to get the screw in but it looks a bit wonky. If I'd be mounting these in plain sight, I'd have returned the bent one as it doesn't look so nice. Based on other reviews I expected to get screws with my purchase but did not. If I'd known I would have had the screws on hand. Since I did not, I had the minor inconvenience of waiting until the following day to purchase screws and mount these in my kitchen. I also expected these to be a bit thicker with smoother edges. The metal is thin enough that it feels like they could cut you if not handled carefully. I bought the heavy duty glass Magnet Jars (made in the USA) to go with these, as everything I've read says the round metal ones tend to rust over time. The magnets are so strong that the sheet buckles a little when I remove the jars. I used 2 inch stainless screws to put these up and used 6 per instead of simply screwing them down at the corners as I feared shorter screws might get pulled out of the wall at top and bottom due to the flex of the boards. For my purposes, these are good but they wouldn't look out of place on a garage wall with tools stuck to them either. If no frills is fine with you, you'll like these. If you want the rolled edges and a more expensive look because everyone will see them when they walk in, you'll probably want to buy the ones you see in stores for 3 times the price.

Easy to install and is strong and sturdy. Holding about 30 magnetic spice jars well.

I bought this to use as a base for a magnetic spice rack. I didn't trust many of the pre-built magnetic spice racks available and decided to put together my own using bits and pieces from different things, and I'm so glad that I did even though it ended up costing me a little more.The delivery was quick and the base itself was well protected with a white film. There were no dents or scratches on the base at all, so I was very impressed with the packaging because I was afraid I was going to end up with a mess (and I think it could be very easy to damage this if the packaging was not good).One thing to mention is that this particular wall base only came with 4 screws and 4 anchors; but there are six holes around the base. I hadn't realized that when we were marking our wall and drilling the holes in the wall to hang this. So there are two empty holes in our wall that we had to make a trip to the hardware store to buy the extra screws and anchors to fill, otherwise it looked unfinished.But other than that this is beautiful. It works very well for what we built and I am getting compliments on the finished spice rack.For others looking to do the same, I used  Stainless Steel Spice Rack with 6 Magnetic Jars , and they hold onto this base very nicely, even when filled with heavy spices like whole nutmeg or Peppercorns. The rack itself is very sturdy against the wall and does not wiggle or bend as I take the spices off for use while cooking. The four screws and anchors were enough to hang the base onto the wall easily; we decided to buy the other two to fill in the holes, but they weren't necessary in order to keep the base hanging steadily.

This item arrived in sturdy cardboard packaging. It was not dented or bent even though it is a metal sheet that would be capable of bending or marring if it was not properly packaged. The tin wall base had a clear plastic coating that you peel off before use it to insure that the side that you display on the wall will be pristinely clean without scratches or dings. The wall base screwed easily into the wall, and I should mention that we did buy our own screws as they did not come with this item (I had expected this but am writing it as an FYI).If you want to make your own spice tins to fit on this wall base then I suggest checking Pinterest for ideas or simply googling "make your own magnetic spice tins". There are several great blog articles about making your own magnetic spice tins with suggestions on which sized magnets to use and which glass bottles to buy. Here is one example: [...] . You can also buy pre made magnetic spice bottles on amazon with or without the spices included. And I like the hexagon shaped magnetic glass bottles that amazon sells because the spice bottles fit together snugly on the wall base to fit the maximum number of spice bottles on the base.Since i live in a small Manhattan apartment, it is very nice to not waste shelf space with my spices and instead have them magnetically secured to this magnetic wall spice rack. It is also easy to find which spice that I need with the magnetic spice rack because I can just glance at the labels on the wall spice rack, as opposed to digging through a cabinet to find a specific spice while I am busy cooking. The tin wall base is also large enough to fit a lot of spices. Overall, it is a great product!

This was exactly what I needed for a diy magnetic spice rack. I only did four stars as it did come with a bend/dent and it seemed a tiny bit pricy. But I didn’t want to wait anymore so I just pounded out the dent with a hammer and on a piece of cardboard so I didn’t mess it up too badly. But other than that it is perfect!

Just as shown and sits well on the wall.
