Very solid, pretty accurate for a toy
Unlike many small toy airplanes that are now using an increasing amount of plastic in their construction, this is all metal except for the propeller, and even it should hold up well to active enjoyment. The canopy is molded as part of the body and painted silver, but is still detailed, and can never break off or come loose as some do. The wheels are also very sturdy, so it will always be ready to stand parked on the runway section it comes with, and while the wheels not realistic, they are not extremely obvious either, and can even be used to hold the plane between thumb and forefinger for an impression of it in its normally wheels up flying position. So it a very solid, sturdy model of the famous Mitsubishi Zero fighter. I have some similar metal toy planes that are literally 50 years old and still in good shape, maybe slight paint chips, so with even mild care, this toy can even be passed down to another generation. I have no idea what scale it approximates, but its amazingly realistic and detailed for its size and demonstrates the Japanese designers' focus on smooth, rounded lines found in so many Japanese aircraft of the World War 2 period. The paint and national markings are realistic. It can match pretty well with other similar metal model airplanes it fought against from the USA and who learned to respect its extreme maneuverability and dominance early in the war. I am an adult collector, but I had similar ones by age 9. Probably not suitable for a toddler, and would be painful to step on with bare feet, but would almost certainly come out of that intact. Never needs to be updated.

WW II Fighter
This Hot Wings WW II fighter is a perfect gift for the younger airplane lover. For the under 5 years of age enthusiast the construction is strong. These models can handle the vigor of a younger child. The landing gear is not to scale but stoutly built for the young aviator. The planes all come with a section of Black foam runway that will fit together so as more models are added, the runway will grow. 100's of models are available.

Fantastic paperweight.
I use this as a paperweight at my office. I grew up in the Pacific, I remember seeing Zero wrecks all the time and thus have a lifelong fascination / affection for the plane (and in particular its elegant silhouette). Clients compliment me all the time about it.
