Great book for studying
I recommend getting this book. The problems can be a little more detailed than the actual exam, but the solutions section is great and packed full of "quick tips", "things to remember", "things to think about", and other helpful hints. You need to be familiar with all the content and equations provided in the solutions section, so IMO it's a great buy. It is well organized and the suggestions and "exam advice" and "checklist" is priceless. Some other comments mentioned errors in the solutions, but there are no errors I found - but there's some tricky problems where the answer is C, but the Solution (what you'd mark on the exam) is A - apparently you can see this on the actual exam, but I did not see it on my actual exam taken in October 2021 - regardless, good to be aware!

Good review for the exam
Good review for the exam. A little harder than the actual questions on the exam, but I think that's a good thing. Some of the questions were repetitive, though (e.g. I don't need 2 questions on active earth pressure on retaining walls).

So far the Ultimate Civil PE Breadth Exam book is much better. I hope there are better books out there ...
Well the nicest thing can I say about the book is that the mistakes and errors boosted my confidenc as they made me realize I do know what I am doing enough to recognize them. It's obvious someone reviewed only the first handful of the problems, that the book is just a grab for money. So far the Ultimate Civil PE Breadth Exam book is much better. I hope there are better books out there for studying I haven't discovered.

Great review source
I've went through several review books looking for problems that have an added twist similar to that of NCEES loves to throw at you on the exams, and this book seems to cover that very well. I really love the way this book has been laid out. The equations used in the solutions have the equation and page number from the CERM so you can find them easily. I have wasted a lot of time hunting for equations and tables going through *cough cough* half hour solutions only to end up creating a cheat sheet with equations not knowing if they're right or wrong. I've finished working through the whole book and only found a few minor errors. I emailed passthecivilpe and got a response back the same day about the errors. They are very supportive and helpful. My intentions of buying this book was to get more practice problems for the AM portion of the PE exam that were realistic and not like those half hour solutions. I feel they were right on the mark in terms of difficulty and being realistic. Overall I would say this study guide is maybe one notch above the NCEES sample questions in terms of difficulty. I definitely recommend this book and would like to see them create a PM study guide in the future.Update: I passed the PE exam! This study guide might only be 40 questions but it packs a punch. I highly recommend this for the AM if you're looking for AM style questions. I was weak in Structures, Geotech, and Construction and this study guide helped me in those areas.

The best practice exam to prepare you for the PE.
First off, yes there are some errors, but be prepared to find that in every review book. The difference is, some authors are willing to go the extra mile and respond to emails, give advice, etc. and that's exactly what Dan did. I sent several emails with questions and the reply was always prompt and very helpful. What a great deal for the $40 I spent on this book!Paired with NCEES, I was able to pass the exam on my first try (construction depth) and I really felt like this test was spot on. It wasn't too easy, like a lot of the practice exams are, and it really helped me get a feel for how the questions are presented. Thank you for an awesome product and superior customer service!~Sincerely,One huge fan!

One of the Best Books I used!
Good book. Only 40 questions however they seemed to be very similar in difficulty to the actual test and also very relevant. The written out solutions were good and allowed me to clearly figure out what mistakes I made and how to do the problem the right way. I did have a question on one solution so I emailed Dan and got a response very quickly that helped me understand one of the solutions.I'd highly recommend the book. It doesn't have the quantity of questions that some of the others do but it's also much cheaper so I think it's a great value and a must have.

Not what I expected and poorly laid out.
First off you should know this book is only sample problems and solutions, it does not have any references (I would not call it a "Guide Book"). Second the problems are much, much harder and more time consuming than the official NCEES practice exams for breadth (I have not taken the PE exam yet) so keep that in mind. Third there is barely any room to work under the problem because they put a very large (and unnecessary) "process for answering" box on every page. That said I will be keeping it and taking it into the exam with me because the problems are for the most part similar to what I expect to see on the exam. My main objections are the extremely poor layout and that they sell it as "Pass the Civil Professional Engineering (PE) Exam Guide Book" when all you really get is half of a practice exam.I tend to be super frugal.... trust me by the CERM or find someone to borrow it from.
