Gallagher Girls 3-book pbk boxed set

Recommended to me by Amazon a year or so ago, the Gallagher Girls books have proven to be far more entertaining than I expected them to be and I'm so glad I gave them a try. Set largely in the Gallagher Academy for Exceptional Young Women, the stories follow Cammie "The Chameleon" Morgan and her friends Bex, Liz and Macey as they train to join the ranks of the famous "Gallagher Girls" - women who comprise some of the cleverest spies ever. Along with studying covert operations and code-breaking, the girls also deal with the usual hazards of teenage life.Ally Carter is a talented writer who not only entertains me, but has enticed me into caring about her characters. I am engaged in the lives of these smart, resourceful - and sometimes so painfully young - girls, and the people surrounding them, including parents, teachers and the inevitable boys. They intrigue me. I want to know more about them and the world they inhabit, and that keeps me turning pages and looking forward to each new book in the series. Carter delivers on plot and paces her stories superbly. She gives us a good balance of dialogue and narrative and an even better balance of humor, danger and poignancy.The Gallagher Girls books are fast, fun and very satisfying reads. It is worth noting, too, that each successive book in the series (and they should definitely be read in order) has grown in complexity and has a slightly darker edge than the volume preceding it. Happily, though the humor remains.Included in this set, in reading order, are: I'd Tell You I Love You, But Then I'd Have to Kill You Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy Don't Judge a Girl by Her Cover Not included in this set is the fourth book,  Only the Good Spy Young , which is currently available only in hardcover.Highly recommended.Another of Ally Carter's recent books,  Heist Society , about a family of con artists and thieves, is also definitely worth checking out. (Think Oceans 11 with teenagers.) I loved it and am looking forward to the sequel,  Uncommon Criminals , which is due in June, 2011. Yeah! And fans of the Gallagher Girls might also enjoy Susan Runholt's Kari & Lucas Mysteries, a series that begins with  The Mystery of the Third Lucretia  and that also features bright, daring teenage girls involved in adventure and mystery.

I love all of Ally Carter's books! They are well written with no obvious plot holes that annoy you through the entire series. I have recommended this series to many people I know and I do not know of anyone who has not enjoyed them at least a little. They are quick and exciting reads that I do not think anyone will regret reading.

I bought these for my granddaughter and she loves them. She is an avid reader and is a young teenager and loved the mystery of the stories. The story line that these girls are learning to be spies/detectives in school created a great interest to want to read more. Thanks to the author for bringing great stories for young teenagers that engages their interest to the enjoyment of reading!

I loved this series of books, so much that I have the next book scheduled for delivery when it is released! Even though I am in my 30s, I have been enjoying a lot of the books that have been written for younger audiences! Keep up the good work!The books that I received from Amazon were in excellent condition! I will continue to order from Amazon for all my reading needs!

I bought these for my niece, 12 1/2, she’s only on the first book but, really likes it.

My 12-year old daughter realized that she loves reading thanks to the Gallagher Girls series! These books are filled with intrigue, suspense, and fun. I asked my daughter what she enjoyed most about the books and she said that she "enjoyed reading about young girls that could do amazing things". Would recommend!

Ally Carter is amazing, and the Gallagher Girl books are must read for pre-teens. I absolutely loved these books growing up, definitely recommend to any young reader!

Very comfortable from the first wear. They arrived before schedule and look forward to wearing them this summer. I have these in brown form last year. They do run wide but did not affect my wear.

9 yr old daughter loves the stories, she can't stop reading them. Perfect to encourage reading, the girls are excellent role models, no nasty girls in sight.
