This nectar is a favorite at our feeder—within hours of putting it out, we had hummingbirds visiting regularly. I've bought this product online through Amazon a few times before without issue. This time I received the bottle with the protective foil but no cap! Thankfully nothing punctured the foil or it would have been a huge mess and an empty bottle. No idea if the manufacturer messed up or if it happened at Amazon...head scratcher and not sure how to let anyone know about it so I'm putting it here. Oh, the product is great. The hummingbirds LOVE IT! And yes I checked the paper wrapping that the bottle was delivered in to make sure the lid didn't just fall off.

Buy this often, love hummingbird! Great quality food, easy to use, no funky smell and very effective drawing in hummingbirds! Great ingredients, clear nectar is best for them as it has no dyes. Highly recommended, and seeing a hummingbird up close is a breathtaking experience.

I've been feeding hummingbirds ever since I moved in to my current apartment almost 10 years ago. I have always avoided dyed nectar, but I have tried everything from DIY to powdered to ready-to-use. Nothing attracts them like this stuff. I don't know what's up, but I have had way more hummingbirds visiting this year in SoCal than before. I am going through about 72oz of this a week. This nectar helps my cats and I enjoy the full gamut of hummingbird behavior. There's one that shows up at first light to sit on an aloe plant and chase other birds away if they so much as look at the feeder. Every day I bear witness to epic aerial battles that warrant a Wagner soundtrack. If one of my feeders is empty, the birds start screaming at me. After I clean and refill the feeder, the birds are on it before I can go back inside. I am scared of using another brand because the birds might come for me. Fortunately, if the ready-to-use stuff is out of stock, there's a concentrated version that you can use diluted and it is just as satisfactory. Birds are our friends but it is in our best interest to stay in their good graces. Don't litter, lower your carbon footprint, and feed this to hummingbirds. Otherwise they are well within their rights to do bird mayhem to you. I swear they didn't tell me to write this.

haven't tried yet but sure will be fine, But it came in a big box along with feeder and feeder stand. Box was damaged but all was fine than noticed bottle didn't have a cap! Ya really. I looked in what was left of box and nothing. It had a seal on it that held so was fine. I found a pop up lid I had saved from honey that fit so all is fine. After I ordered feeder stand and feed watched some videos on attracting, feeding and caring for humming birds. I got a bad feeder but rt away orderd rt 1. Also learned how to make my own feed. If U don't want to do that this is a great buy. But if U do take 1 cup of sugar, 2-3 cups of water, nuk it 1-2 min. till dissolved let cool and add water so U have 1 cup sugar, 4 cups water. They recommended that cause the little guys could pick up something not good for them. BUT I HAVE DONE ALOT OF WATER studies and testing and the water we are drinking is a lot worse than this I know. I have a main line charcoal filter in my house, does everything. Takes out all but what they call hardness which is calcium and iron which we need. I than got another charcoal filter for my kitchen sink. That takes everything out. I water my plants drink this and give my cat. Since that my cat started gaining weight who was always thin, and the taste is great,, pure. I got the test kit and filters all from amazon. And all very easy to use and install. What they don't tell us is what we are drinking is gona kill us. LOL yes I also feed and water about 300 birds, my bug control and they get the same water. I found that humming birds are very sensitive so I will be making my own feed but if U don't have filters, buy this 1.

My local hummingbirds love this stuff. They won't even touch the Perky Pet brand that is so much cheaper and available in virtually every store than sells hummingbird feeders an food. I like the convenience of not having to mix anything.

I prefer the nectar concentrate, but this product was a good substitute. I am not qualified to say if the electrolytes are required for the birds, but it does seem to attract them and provide a welcome display.
