UPDATED I really wanted to like this basket.
Bought based upon the large number of positive reviews regarding the "Black Hole Line". Unfortunately while the size and weight of the chains is beefed up on the "pro" no effort was made to beef up the base or the support shaft. Since Disc golf baskets are by nature top heavy, the structure needs to be able to support the added weight. Took this "portable basket out to the park to throw with friends, and the the wind knocked it over twice. On the second time, the small tack weld that attaches the base bolt to the shaft failed and the whole "washer" peeled out of the tube. C'mon guys, this is supposed to be a quality product. I have contacted MVP and will report back on their customer service. UPDATE: I received a response the next business day following my email to MVP Customer Service and they are sending a replacement part. While I still think the product should be more durable, the company has made the effort to return the product to the condition in which it was sold.

Fantastic!
Best for the money! It is fantastic.Ordered on Dec. 26th 2016Received on Jan 6th 2017MVP (manufacturer) closed for the holidays. Seller, (Sun King Discs Sports) sent me a letter thanking me for the order, letting me know of the actual ship date, sticker and an Amazon coupon code. Great customer service by the seller.Packaging:Comes in marked and logo'ed MVP box. It would have been nice for unit to be wrapped in an additional outer box for extra protection and security. But everything was ok in shipping.Basket:Start with the round base. It is very sturdy and big enough for stable putting in the backyard. I will place mine on some concrete stepping stones just to keep it off the ground. The base also comes with ground spikes to further stabilize unit. All welds/paint look good.Lower pole:Lower pole screws into base. Simple, easy.Catch basket:Catch basket goes on top of lower pole. Catch basket is well made and sturdy. All welds/paint look good.Upper pole:Goes into lower pole with basket in-between. I have read reports of people filling the upper pole with foam sealant to "deaden" the sound. I will hold off (for now) as I like the rewarding "banging chains". I may, however get some bright tape (electrician/duct/hunting) and place a strip on the upper pole as an "aimpoint" I have seen this done at local courses with automotive reflective tape.Top Rim:Professional looking top ring is what really sets this unit apart from all other home units on the market. Gives the unit a nice flair. Nice logo and graphics.Top Cap:Top cap installs above rim to hold everything together. Looking for a way I can add a dowel rod/pvc/pipe on top cap to hold a flag for windage. Hope MVP comes out with an accessory for a flag.Chains:Chains are nice zinc plated for non-permanent outdoor use. Nice feel and weight to the chains. Chains (inner or outer) are not removable unless you use two pairs of Vice-Grip to get "s" hook off.But why remove chains? Some people do ask that question. But, I bought this becouse of the double set of chains, just like the Profesional ones at the city park.Overall:A quality unit that will give years of use. I would recommend this brand/model to anyone looking for residential backyard practice (or fun).It will be nice to get guests into the sport with this unit. For me (male, 6ft tall 220 lbs) it's not hard to move around. It comes apart easy if you want to put it in your car/auto trunk. However...unit may be to heavy for someone, that is where the folding type disc baskets would come in handy, as a space saver or lighter version.I plan to keep this covered with an bbq grill cover or under the patio when not in use, just to help keep it in great condition.Great job MVP, Sun King Discs and Amazon! Update: I did buy some thick, non-adhisive shelf liner (like tool box drawer liner) and wrapped the bottom half of the top pole with it. This gave the MVP Black Hole Pro a deeper tone when hit, got rid of the "tinny" sound. Also got some 1 1/2 to 1/2 pvc fitting and made a flag for the top so it now has a wind indicator. Awesome, solid practice basket
I'm fairly new to disc golf and wanted to get a nice practice basket to set up at the park around the corner. I'd looked at various lighter weight options like the Traveller, etc, but they seemed a little cheap and flimsy compared to some of the more solid steel baskets that were out there at that price point. As soon as the Black Hole Pro with transit bag went down in price, I jumped on it. Glad I did, it's solid, really well built as far as I can tell and the materials are high quality (chains are sweeeeet!) The only complaint (which really isn't one) is that its heavy, and a little awkward to carry so if you are bringing it to the park, don't plan on taking any long hikes with it haha. Seriously, awesome deal and basket.

Rusty within a month, but I still love it.
Pros: it took longer to take out of the packaging than to assemble, fairly sturdy, catches discsCons: it rusted as soon as it rained. First the weld points on the spokes rusted and then the chains within a month. I have owned this basket for 5 months and the chains are noticibly rusty. The basket is shallow and sometimes discs jump out of the basket. It really wobbles if you hit it hard with a heavy weight disc (e.g. 270g training wizard from gateway) the metal band on the top shows marks easily from getting hit by discs.Overall I am disappointed in how fast it rusted, but I still get a lot of enjoyment out of the basket. I play with it ALL THE TIME. My little kids love playing with it in the back yard. My putting has improved. This basket still has a lot of life left in it. Once it dies (if ever) I will probably get a course-quality basket for my back yard.

it's able to be broken down/assembled in like a minute
I've been using this target for roughly 4 months now. I move it from from under my back porch and set it up in the yard. I have no issues with it being wobbly. If handled correctly target isn't hard on the body for it's 35lbs. It catches well with minor spit out with no slice through. Compared to Innova models, the top rim isn't as thick. The inner portion of the chains are able to be removed, the outer chains are not. If this bothers you, cut the top chain on each run, and go pick up some carabiners. They advertise correctly, it's able to be broken down/assembled in like a minute, with no tools, and I love that. Only negative thing I could say about it target is that some may not like the all black theme. I however love it. If you want to get creative, buy some fluorescent spray paints to mark up your target if you want. Now, the chains are nice and have a highly visible chrome glow. I keep it out of the rain as well in an attempt to keep that. If you want to use it at night, you can purchase "glow chains" on the internet that use a black light flashlight. They're also not as loud as the chains that come with the Black Hole so neighbors may appreciate that. In closing, this target is like putting at the real thing and for a decent amount of money!
