Gorgeous Art and Functioning Story
For what this is, it's gorgeous. The art drew me in from the initial purchase, and it carried me through the 24 pages the story inhabits. (Nobrow Press should be extremely happy with the quality of work, and product, they're producing.)Really, though, if the art doesn't get you, then I don't think this will be for you. The story works well enough in carrying us through a mini-arc in these few pages, but it didn't resonate with me as others have. Honestly, though, that's not a bad thing. For me, half of a comic is simply being drawn in and absorbed by the way the graphic story is told, and the artwork and page design / layout in THE NEW GHOST is nothing short of fantastic. I love the colors and parallelism and the tone they create. In short, if you think the cover is gorgeous, you should probably spend the dollars to buy the whole book.

Heartwarming story
This little zine has such a lovely quiet little story, kind of like a bedtime story for adults. The narrative is well structured and works great with the panelling, and the artwork is wonderfully textural in a style I’ve come to know and love from Nobrow. If you’re into action-packed stuff this may not be for you, but this story realy touched me and reminded me of why I love illustration and independent press.

The Troubleshooting Ghost
I decided to purchase because of another short I read called "Fish" that was published by Nobrow's 17x23. The artwork in this is absolutely beautiful but the writing leaves much to be desired. I found it flat and mechanical, it didn't really add that much to the story. I honestly wonder if the artist could have foregone most of the text with more captivating drawings. For example, instead of saying, "I was helped to my feet and invited inside to rest" or "As we walked I searched the sky in the hope of spotting the group again," show the ghost doing just that. At the least, some dialogue would've been desired but I'm sure there were constraints/guidelines that I as the reader am unaware of.

Wistful, simple, and interesting.
This is a very small comic, only 24 pages, but I think it's totally worth it. It is a rather simple story to understand (depending on perspective), but it is so well made, and relies more on the images rather than the words. It's meant to be appreciated for what you see, rather than what you read. I don't think people will get lost while reading this, and it doesn't treat you like a child.Truly beautiful.

WE BE dead?
Very elegantly written, dark(ish) comedy, kind of cuddly, goofy vibe though. The illustrations arevisually vibrant and the outfits are decidedly along the line of what Wes Anderson would like todress people like. It ended on a high note for me! Unexpected and fresh.

Nice little book with a nice little message
Nice little book with a nice little message. Nothing mind-blowing, took only 5 minutes to read.I might have been more impressed when I was 14.

Short, Yes, But A True Work Of Art
The New Ghost is one of the most beautifully drawn and put together books I have on my book shelf: the paper is thick and matte, and is the sort of paper you just want to rub your face against; Rob Hunter uses space in an innovative and beautiful way, making following the story an experience in itself (which is, after all, one of the main aspects of a graphic novel); the story is sweet and poignant. It is the sort of book you want to share with everyone, because everyone should know and celebrate it, but that you also want to keep all to yourself because you want to savour the private magic of it. Rob Hunter has struck ghostly gold in the writing of The New Ghost; I cannot recommend this highly enough.

Fantastic story / Amazing illustration / Incredible printing / Wunderbar!
This book/zine is fantastic. Yes it is small but that's not the reason you're buying it. You're buying it for the quality of the story and illustrations. The level of detail in the printing process is amazing. The colours are so vivid and and so rich, they almost feel 'solid'. At first I was dubious about being paperback, without a spine they don't stand very well, but I couldn't have been more wrong. The paperback-ness of it kind of makes it. It feels 'hot of the press', instant, like you've received a special exhibition edition. I've only just discovered Nobrow, but I'm so happy I found them, thank god theres some great people out there making amazing work without charging the earth for it. Can't fault this issue, oh and the smell! the paper smell gets 5 stars on its own.

Absolutely beautiful
24 pages of hauntingly stunning art and an atmospheric heart-warming story. The New Ghost follows the story of a ghost on his first day. It’s a little gem of a graphic novel and although a very quick read, manages to effortlessly accomplish lots in a short amount of time. I loved this to pieces and I know I will re-read this for many times to come.

Pretty art and colours
Really pretty art and use of colours. I also like how everything was laid out. It's a big short though; it has more of a comic feel than a book.

Beautifully illustrated
Beautiful art although I first thought it was a book not a zine. Still a good read and really beautiful, would like more narrative in this style 💗
