Read with Oxford: Stages 1-2: Julia Donaldson's Songbirds: My Phonics Story Collection Paperback – 3 May 2018

Bought as Xmas present for 4 year old. Grandson. Once looked at books and started to read stage 1 he was so happy he could read and sound out we read 3 together all at once. Stage 2 books were a little more demanding but he liked the story and worked quite hard to read it. Excellent vale.

We purchased this set for our 4 year old daughter who has just started school and is learning phonics. These books are ideal with the stage 1 books made up of very short sentences comprising of three-letter words. Ideal for a new reader to begin sounding out the words. Our daughter is whizzing through them and loves adding a sticker to the chart for each book she reads. Will definitely be purchasing more from this range.

Fabulous book for 1st time readers! Every word can be spelt out with phonics which encourages reading. And they are so much more interesting than the school books! Both I and my 4-5 year old love them!

Comes with a sticker chart, which made reading extra fun for my daughter. Improved her reading confidence and rhythm which was also noticed by the school teachers. She's 5 and can read all the books independently after a couple of months. Highly recommend.

Lovely set of books and handy box to store. Comes with sticker sheet so you can reward after each book. Great for 4 year old who managed both stages without too much trouble, and loves being able to read for himself. Only comment was that we received 2 of the same number book instead of a full set but by the time I realised we'd used the stickers and read the other books so didn't return

Bought for our 4 year old who started school in September. She was so excited to read a “proper” book herself, very easy to follow the stages with the right balance of challenging her but also building her confidence as she gets it right and enjoys the stories.

Such good value for so many books. These are some of the ones our school has too and they're really good beginner books because they gradually introduce words that are easy to phonetically explain (like C-A-T) instead of chucking too many complex words in. Would highly recommend.

Good first step books for kid learn phonics can build confidence to read them by their own
