Works great for my dog run! Love it!
I purchased this sail shade to cover the dog run for my two big dogs and their big dog run! I like that is has the BEST SPF of all the shades I researched. It is also more water proof than other shades. Upon arrival I was impressed with the sturdiness of the shade material, hem stitching and it's rivets. It was easy to put up. I had also purchased some supports on Amazon from another seller but found them to be flimsy and without a good way to secure the rivets of the sail shade, (would not recommend them) so I trashed those and came up with anothe plan. I attached the rivets on each end of the long end of the shade to the top of two supports on the dog run fencing with some para-cord I had (it's a 6 ft tall fence), and then bought another galvanized pipe at my local big box home & garden store. The pipe was 12 ft, which is taller than the dog run fencing, and also placed an eye hook in the end of that pipe. I lashed that pipe to another dog run fence support with zip ties and secured the rivet of the third point on the triangle to the top of the tall pipe. The setup is sturdy, gives the "sail" look I wanted and actually helps channel a breeze onto the run. The shade is positioned to block the daytime and afternoon sun. My dogs immediately noticed the difference and started napping under it. Since installing it one week ago we've had several severe thunderstorms (including light hail) and the shade has held up with no problems. I would highly recommend this sail shade.

Waterproof means water collector
Should be hung so the water flows off one or 2 corners

didn't last one night! stay way from Kookaburra shade sails!
Carefully installed per manufacturer's instructions. Looked beautiful. Six hour later overnight one corner loop tore the webbing out of the sail. I don't know if it was a defective product or what. The manufacturer's website printed on the packaging is dead, no way to contact them! Kookaburra seems to have left the shade sail world as their website has NOTHIING about shade sails... What good is a two year warranty if the manufacturer cannot be contacted? It has been a frustrating mess to get this resolved as the seller never responded to stand behind a product they sell. I would be more than willing to file a warranty claim, but I am not mailing this back to Australia! Fortunately, Amazon has made an exception and is refunding it.In my opinion, stay away from Kookaburra sail shades!!

More of a Midnight Blue but a Definite Keeper
The ''blue'' is more of a midnight blue. It is the same incredible quality sail that only Kookaburra makes. My first Kookaburra was ordered 3 plus years ago and a vibrant purple/pink. It has held up year round for those three years through the Arizona sun, monsoon rains with the accompanying exuberant winds without a tear or stitch unraveled. Naturally that magenta has faded. Just flip it over back to a more vibrant color. It has stretched but adds to the artistic flair of the sail. Regarding this midnight blue just received, too dark for the Arizona landscape but am excited to see what color it will fade to in a year. It's a keeper though as it will hold up in this rather harsh environment. I don't suggest ordering this product in the summer months as it took longer than 2 days to be delivered. Planning ahead is recommended. :) If looking for a true blue, try ordering the ''ázure'' blue. As always, Amazon customer service is very courteous and helpful.

Satisfied :)
I installed in the spring, and kept it up until September. If installed properly the water doesn't puddle or leak thru. I had slope from side to side, then more slope out to the point. I have a 2 story house which makes that slope possible. The trouble is that with wind the area underneath does not stay dry. Rain with no wind, 1 person can sit in a chair in the middle and stay dry. So, I would reccomend the regular sail and not spend the extra $ for waterproof sail. It does a great job for creating shade. Loved that, totally better than umbrellas.I plan on getting another spring to fall season out of this sail.

LOVE LIME! LOVE KOOKABURRA!
My experience with past Kookaburra sails is exceptional. Unfortunately (to my neighborhoods dismay XP) vibrant magenta seems to have been discontinued. Absolutely divine winds come rolling off the mountain, into our valley tossing yard furniture into the neighbor's yards and chickens into the street. But these sails have held up year round (using some gorilla glue in addition to the screws) for three years. The sails have been rained on, thrashed about by the wind and beaten all year by the Arizona sun, Sails are stretched and faded but still in one piece, not a stitch undone, not the smallest tear and holding secure to the suggested ''BlueDot Trading Square Shade Sail Hardware Kit.'' The faded magenta sail just needs to be flipped over as the underside has not faded and the new ones I'm confident will hold up just as well. BTW, the chickens are fine. Neighbors just pick them up and take them back to their home. Now that's one hearty, quality product.

I bought and returned. Now I am buying it again
At first I gave this a one star, until I ordered a different one that leaked. I realize now that the water pools in the middle even at an angle was because I didn't have it at a steep enough angle. At least it didn't leak like the other one (that I am returning )

Don't pay more for waterproof
Thinking waterproof would be than water resistant, but not in this case. Nothing under my cover is near dry, and its not coming from sides...

Almost perfect
Having ordered a smaller size which I had to return, I then ordered this item, as per the original order, this arrived within 3days of ordering via a courier, suitably packaged. This size was perfect for my needs, the build quality is good, the colour and material ideal, using it to replace a more traditional canopy. As for almost perfect, I wish I could have obtained an isosceles triangle of similar size BUT this is more than suitable and well worth the cost. Not only pleased with the product, very impressed with the company.

Good result
We bought this for our deck after years of being frustrated at moving an umbrella around. Really pleased. We have a square deck with walls on 2 sides. I attached it using fixings I bought with three points on the house, and one on a tree stake I hammered into a large raised bed we have. So far its holding OK. It does a great job of shading us from the sun. It hasn't had to handle much rain so far so we'll see what happens.Key piece of advice when fitting - think about how you take it up and down. It can get windy here so I will take it down when that happens, but I had to put one corner fixing quite high so that we could open two sets of bifold doors underneath the sail. It's so high that I can only clip it on and off with a stepladder, which is a bit of a pain. The other three I can do from the ground. I'm planning to solve it by adding a piece of rope so I can raise and lower it like a blind on that corner, but think it through before you start drilling. One final note. Mine is a square sail, which means on days when it's not quite so sunny, I can unclip one corner and fold it under to clip onto the opposite corner, giving us a half size triangular sail and letting more light into the house, without taking it all down. All in all we're pleased.

Very well made, strong and looks good
Was a bit worried that the sail would look like an old sheet with lots of creases and wrinkles, so went for the branded more expensive option of Kookaburra, and have been very pleased at how the sail looks after a few days.I think this may be a new hobby though as I've already ordered a larger one, (I have the 3x3M triangle show in the photo) and once it's in place you then get an idea of where you really want the shade through various points of the day.I followed the advice and worked out using my school boy trigonometry skills the mounting points to get a 20 degree angle to prevent water pooling.... but when putting the fixings in the wall did the 'Oh that looks way too steep' and reduced the angle a bit.... and had water pooling! So increased a little as shown and now the water runs off.It isn't obviously 100% waterproof, i.e. the odd drip will come through in heavy rain, but I can't tell you how much joy I've had sitting out in the rain with coffee keeping dry and enjoying the garden and the sounds and smells. If I get a few years service out of this I'll be very happy, seems to be fine in the high winds so far, but think I'll take them down in the autumn.

Worth a buy!
Purchased this sale to cover the top of my pergola. Sale is of a good thickness and the seams are very well stitched. It has survived the breezy weather and has kept me dry during a light shower.
