Freejack [VHS]

It film like marmite! You will love or hate it!But it has a supprising cast and amusing storyline. I love it and with hope you will too!!

I don't know why Freejack gets so many dislikes on here especially on Rotten Tomatoes and IMDB it's really good for what it is, a lower budget Action Sci Fi romp. To be honest I would rather watch this than similar genre films like Universal Soldier and the average to me, Robocop 2. The story has some great twists throughout, action set pieces are decent with clever editing, it keeps you constantly watching not many dragging moments, pretty above average CGI work for 1992 and Mick Jagger is really entertaining, plays his part great.Emilio Estevez is wooden not a good lead I think him and the dialogue script for everyone is probably the weakest part of the film for me. They're are light comedy moments like in Demolition Man but they are all a bit lame though at least the script tries. The CGI is Lawnmower Man quality ,you know above average for the era but won't blow you away. The opening section with the race cars looks cheap (good pyro) though). The sets and props look cheap too but it all serves a purpose crude but functional.I would definitely recommend giving Freejack a watch especially if you enjoyed Demolition Man and Predator 2 but don't expect Total Recall or Stargate.

Bought from Amazon 2017 .... 2021 finally decided to give it a go and watch... Didn't think much looked very low budget but stuck with it .... not a bad ending so in the end glad i bought it.

4 stars is pushing it but anyone of a certain age that liked very corny sci-fi maybe in for a treat.It's dated badly, but it was never up to date when it originally came out in the early 1990's so that's not an issue really.The special effects were not great for even that period, but the action, including lots of car stunts, gunshots and explosions are still very good.With a top drawer cast and some clever ideas it rises above it's failings to deliver a what essentially is a Jason Bourne chase thriller with science fiction add on's.Emilio Estevez takes the lead as a racing driver transported to the future so a wealthy business man Can use his body to live on.Emilio escapes and goes on the run, cue lots of chases and dubious paranoia from our hero as he has to figure out what's true and who he can trust.Directed by Geoff Murphy who helmed Yocheeks 2, this is pure entertainment full of of humour, some style, lots of chases and implausible escapes.With a very starry cast, most one suspects for the paycheck this is no Shakespeare but taken on face values a tongue in cheek science fiction action movie with lots of action and a little romance it is pure fun.

awful story line and corny acting but ok if you think its cool

A brilliant film. not seen ever on television. A must buy for anybody who loves a good sci fiction film. this is a rare sci fiction with a great gathering of actors including mick jagger. A very creative plot which will keep you entriqued and on the edge of your seat till the very end. this was a hard film to find as I have been looking for it for over five years and it was well worth waiting for. This film is about a racing driver whose body was taken over before he actually died, his body being taken into the the future, but unfortunately he was not dead. follow this thought and see his journey for justice.

Good movie for thrill seekers and action lovers.

My expectations were low going in, as I vaguely remembered it from years ago. Well, it seems my memory held the film in too high a regard.It’s terrible. Badly written, poor acting, haphazard directing. Just…don’t waste your time or money.
