great budget machete
I bought this from a shop near me for $20 and after having used it for about 5 months I still love it. there are some things you may want to do when you get one: take the lanyard off and replace it with some para-cord of your choice and [I highly suggest] put a wrap on the handle, because the pyramid shaped bumps can be a little abrasive on the palm. The edge retention is great! It was very sharp when i bought it. For my initial tests I used it to chop through 5 inch thick cedar limbs and not a ding, yeah the finish is showing wear but that was expected, still really sharp.I definitely suggest this to anyone!

I have not had a chance to pummel some trees ...
I have not had a chance to pummel some trees with it yet but if 1st impressions are anything then I am not hopeful. When it arrived it had a broken strap that holds the machete in the sheath.

Some are good and some not so...
Some blades are great and some are not. some come with nicks and some break on the first strike into a softwood. This handle is better than some of the others that they offers. Overall it would do well in high brush but not for much else.
