The best carrier for my pup. Sturdy but comfortable

I wasn't so sure this was going to work for our 18-lb blue heeler mix, but it works like a dream! Our dog is very active and likes to join us on backpacking trips, hikes, bike rides, and gravel bike rides. Problem is that we usually want to go a bit faster and longer than we think is good for her. She keeps up, but sometimes has sore paws the next day. Enter: K9 Sport Sack! As we hoped, the bag is perfect for when we're on the trail and have gone a little far out and are starting to see our pup slowing down. She is totally fine getting in the pack, which we thought would be a struggle given her serious reluctance to otherwise be in enclosed spaces or confined in any way. We followed the instructions (lots of treats and praise the first time in the pack + a walk so she could see that the pack signaled more together outside time) and she was totally happy to get in the pack - no struggle whatsoever. We were pleasantly surprised! We got the light grey color so that it would retain less heat when out and about. I think on really hot days you could get a very small cold pack, wrap it in a towel and place it in with your pup to cool them down as-needed. However, we haven't needed to do that yet on 80+ degree days. I think it would be a different story if it were hotter, we were in direct sun, or using it for more than about 30 mins at a time. The straps work well, and the material is great quality. The folks at K9 Sport Sack really thought through every element of the design from both the dog's and human's perspective. It's easy to get the pup in, and they will love to feel the wind in their fur, smell the delights of the trail, and feel secure riding on your back. Highly recommend!

This is literally the most amazing product ever! I have 3 other carriers and a stroller for my 12 pound passenger princess and this is my go to as in I keep it in the car and never go anywhere without it. Need to run into the store quick but have the passenger princess in tow? No worries, toss her in the sack and in you go. This works on every store everywhere that does not allow dogs, if the employees notice, they’re too taken aback by the adorably cute doggo strapped to your back to care - I’ve literally had employees want to pet my dog in a no dogs store. The main thing that makes this my favorite carrier is that it evenly distributes the weight and the dog leans into your back so there’s no added intermittent weight from a booty shift and wiggle even when hiking 5+ miles. I will not hesitate to purchase again should anything ever happen to the current one but it seems incredibly well made. With all this said, I feel it’s also worth noting that my passenger princess loves to be carried, held, or pushed in a stroller as in god may strike her dead if her dainty little hands aka paws ever touch the desolate earth, so if your dog is not a fan of being held this would probably not be the best to start with as it is very form fitting to the dog and human alike…but if you have a Velcro fur baby I simply cannot recommend this enough as in an infinite amount of stars - and no, I did not receive anything for this review, it really is just this amazing!

Best carrier for dachshund! He doesn’t like walking so this backpack is super convenient and comfortable for carrying him!

I have tried so many different carriers for my 22lb pug but this is definitely the best option! You'll need a size Large if you have a barrel chested pup like a pug or frenchie. As several other reviews have stated, I have to put a rolled up towel in the bottom for his butt to rest on because the Large is long, but the width is necessary for his little ham body. It's a bit awkward to get him in there- it goes on kind of like a harness with front legs out, but the back legs go in the bag, so he gets a little wiggly. It's much easier to put on if you have help! You also can't really set the bag down with the dog in it. But once he's in, he's very happy- we hike all over with the dogs to get to rock climbing routes and so far the bag has been great! If you are going a long distance, it does put a lot of pressure on your shoulders since there is no belly strap. However, overall, it works well and puggy seems to enjoy coming along for the ride with no effort. Happy hiking!

my dog is a cocker spaniel, she weights 18 pounds and usually shes a size XL in clothing ordered from amazon but collars and regular size she usually is size M. She fits great in this sack, was very easy to use but still gave her a few treats around it so she'd feel safe, the bag has a sturdy zipper so she looks safe. cant wait to use it. other than that there's not much room for anything else than a water bottle on the side because she fills the whole bag basically.

I need to wash the bag before my dog uses it, Product was delivered with animal hair all on the inside. Doesn’t appear to be new. For $70 it shouldn’t include hair with it. Product seems OK but please next time deliver with no Animal products in it,other than the bag is good. thanks.

This is great. The step by step instructions were easy to follow and worked the first time. Great for travelling in ferries and walking through country markets where small dogs feel like they are going to be trodden on. Quality is great and he feels very secure especially with the back supporting straps.

The rucksack is okay but please be absolutely sure you know what size you need as for some reason you can’t return this item. Very, very poor Amazon, I will now rethink my future purchases.

Could not physically put my 20 lb. Dog in the backpack by myself. I travel solo so without help from someone else I would never be able to manage to get my dog hoisted onto my back.
