Fantastic Pen for OneNote on my Surface Pro 6 - Inexpensive, Reliable, Responsive, Comfortable
LOVE this stylus! In January I purchased a Surface Pro 6 for grad school and a large reason I wanted it was because I love OneNote. However, OneNote is not very helpful if you don't invest in a good stylus to make writing easier and more fluid. The new Surface Pen is $100, and I really did not want to pay that much after spending $800 on my surface pro and keyboard. So I tried this Bamboo Ink Stylus out. It. Is. Perfect. The smooth overlay and triangular pen shape make it very comfortable to hold. The two buttons which allow you to select text or erase are incredible. Because of their location being near where I grip the pen, I can erase and select almost instantaneously without having to change my grip or click to switch to eraser or select mode of my surface pro. It's awesome. As a student who needed a stylus almost solely for notetaking, there is no reason anyone should buy a surface pen or a pricier stylus. I bought my stylus for $26 used in very good condition from Amazon and it has been all I hoped for and more. I would like to say one more thing to potential buyers. If you only want a stylus for notetaking, this stylus is perfect. However, if you need a pen suitable for design work or that has great Windows Ink capabilities, I cannot attest to its performance in that regard. I have heard this stylus is not as capable in some design applications, so dig deeper if that's what you want this stylus to do. The only other thing I'd say is the battery seems to last a little shorter than I had hoped. The pen takes 4A batteries. Not 3A. A little odd, but it keeps the stylus thin and small. That said, I typically change the battery every 6 weeks, but that is also because I use my stylus daily for relatively long periods of time. Hope the Bamboo Ink suits you as it has me!

Great Value, lowest price for wacom bamboo smart, and a good seller
I received a broken pen at first, i got mad at the seller and contacted amazon immediately without communicating with the seller and i was tempted to leave a bad review, influenced by some of the other bad reviews for the product . AND I ADMIT that I WAS WRONG. the seller contacted me back and he was such a nice guy that really cared about his Business and his customers . He did send me a new replacement pen and it was brand new (not refurbished whatsoever) and i am really satisfied with the product. This bamboo pen is one of the best pens out there to use with a windows N trig/ Microsoft pen protocol laptop, because its the only pen that functioned right for inking and note taking. The newer bamboo ink plus (the top of the line bamboo) and microsoft pen did not function right with my HP x360 10th gen, because you can't adjust the sensitivity. i found out that only surface products can adjust sensitivity, because surface products has a special surface app made to adjust sensitivity. if you try to install the surface app it will detect whether you have a surface device or not, if you don't, then it will not work and you wont be able to use the pen right.

Works well but expensive
This is my second Bamboo purchase. Now, I have 3 different style of Active/Capacitive Stylus for my HP Envy x360 15-1xx series 1. Refurbished Wacom Bamboo 2. Capacitive Stylus 3. Certified Surface Pen This review is for Bamboo Pen but I will provide the overall comparison with the others, you can see my other reviews under the other 2 products review My husband bought me the Bamboo pen a while back, it is a pricey pen and I lost it during our road trip. So he bought me this as a replacement and this time is a the refurbished one LOL Then I lost it again but this time I lost it at home. Fortunately this one showed up, unfortunately it showed up after I bought the stylus and the surface pen. I really love it when I first get it. It helps me with my art & craft and digital drawing. Several things bother me tho and I cannot find out the solutions to fix it eventho it supposed to work. I tried to set the button to other function but it doesn’t work and does not have much option that useful for my needs. I wish this has the tilt function but I am using my laptop more for art&craft and drawing so it does not/has not bother me yet. Sensitivity and accuracy can be an issue once a while, it glitches. And there’s some lag as well when somehow the communication is disrupted. I do like the shortcut on the top of the Bamboo pen than allow me to open Ink. I wish I can adjust it to open other app. I read that I should be able to but so far I have not been able to do so. The Bamboo comes with 3 different hardiness tips, the one on the Certified Surface Pen comes with 2 tips. It has plus and minus on both but they are both are preferences than functionality. The softer tip is nicer to write in my opinion. The harder tip is easier and feel nicer to draw something more detail. I feel has more control on the harder tip. I prefer the erase function on the Cert Surface Pen since it is easier and faster to erase the drawing and writing. The Bamboo erase function works well for writing not so much for drawing compare to my other pen. They both ignore my palm touching the screen which is what it supposed to be. The stylus, can we be used to write and draw but our palm cannot touch the screen (Capacitive stylus Pen). I couldn’t find any information about my laptop if it support tilt functionality or not. I wish I bought the cert surface pen with tilt support to test it out. Maybe next time They all works as its expected to. But I have to give Bamboo 4 * since the price is a lot higher than the Cert Surface Pen and they both work similar. Stylus is a 5, for the stylus this is a very good quality one and works very well. The 2 tips works nicely without having to do any setting or adjustment. And it is flexible enough so my son’s and husband can use it on their regular touch screen device The certified surface pen, I am giving it a 5 since the price is way cheaper than Bamboo and it works almost the same. If price is not an issue, then you should go with the pen that made specifically for your system. I go with Bamboo because the HP pen is more expensive than Bamboo. The HP pen will have better support for my laptop since it is designed for this laptop. Since the cert surface pen works as good as the Bamboo, I wish I bought that one instead of the Bamboo. Unless you are a real artist with a high end device, any of this stylus/pen will work for you.

Seems not to work with Dell Inspiron laptops. Definitely doesn't with mine.
I'm on a Dell Inspiron 5570, which is a new touchscreen laptop with Windows Ink. In theory, the kind of laptop you're supposed to use with this pen. I have to report that, while you can get the stylus to pair with the laptop and you can press the button on the end to pull up Windows Ink, you can't get the stylus to actually write anything. So, if you wanted an expensive remote control for one program on your Inspiron laptop, you've found it. If you wanted a stylus, this isn't it. I say Inspiron because it seems that at least one other person in the reviews has had exactly the same problem with the Inspiron line... a year ago. I don't think this is going to be fixed with a driver update any time soon. Speaking of which, the drivers don't want to update. The updater doesn't recognize the pen as a supported device (although IIRC the wording it uses is "supported tablet," which is rather confusing). Normal computer firmware updates don't seem to have an effect either. Yes, I tried switching pen compatibility modes with the two buttons on top, like you're supposed to. The blue lights in the pen blink to say it worked, and it doesn't change anything. I bought a stylus for myself and one for my brother, who's getting the same laptop for Christmas. Neither pen works with my computer; both have this issue where the Bluetooth connection and the buttons work, but the stylus itself doesn't. So I doubt this is an individual defect. I usually love Wacom products. I've had a Wacom tablet for the past six years that shows no signs of wear (though I've replaced plenty of pen nibs). It's built like a tank. I could probably run over the drawing surface part with my car and it'd still work. But this stylus? It's a piece of junk, and it's not worth $20. Wacom doesn't even have a page for it anymore, it seems. Googling it brings up Wacom's "this product is not available in your country" (US) page. My usual solution to technical problems is "give up on Windows and use Linux, so if it has a problem at least you have some clue about what's going on," but that doesn't work too well when the product is specifically for Windows Ink. I've done all the troubleshooting I possibly can. This is going back to the seller. I only wish they'd send me a refund for the hours I've spent trying to get this thing to work.

Huge upgrade over Lenovo stylus
When the tip fell out of my Lenovo 4X80H34887 ThinkPad Active Capacitive Pen, I discovered that it was impossible to find any replacement nibs. Very frustrating, and Lenovo provides no direction of any kind on what tech is used in my Yoga 11e 3rd generation model 20GA000KUS (I discovered that the Yoga 11e 3rd gen uses Wacom AES); nor do they provide a clear recommendation on what product replaces it. So, I decided to take a chance and instead purchased a Wacom Bamboo Ink Smart Stylus. I purchased mine "Like New" from FPP Computers for only $22. I will say that I *much* prefer the Bamboo to the Lenovo stylus I was using before. After installing the updated Wacom drivers, I was able to customizable Bluetooth-linked top button (very nice) and have found it very comfortable to hold, with an ever-so-slightly grippy surface. The nib depth is set to provide clear visibility of the tip touching the surface of the screen, and the experience is much, much better. Maybe it's faster than the Lenovo pen, which I believe was also produced by Wacom--I can't tell. But I do know that my on-screen handwriting is clearer, and it just seems to be a more natural writing experience. I stopped by the store yesterday and tried inking in OneNote on a Microsoft Surface Pro with the Surface Pen, and, honestly, this $22 pen on a cheap Lenovo Yoga 11e seemed to track much better: it doesn't track as fast as the Surface does, but it's absolutely more accurate and registers clearer writing. Speaking of which, the pen switches between the Wacom AES technology found in my Yoga 11e and the Surface's N-Trig technology (which was rebranded "Microsoft Pen Protocol" after Microsoft's acquisition of the Israeli-based N-Trig), so I plan on testing the pen out on a Surface. Unlike the Lenovo 4X80H34887, it did not come with a nifty USB clip, so there's no way to attach it to the device. But that's fine. It did come with a Duracell battery. If you're looking for a stylus for the Yoga 11e (or for any device that uses Wacom AES technology), I would strongly recommend the Wacom Bamboo Ink Smart Stylus.

Draws good, but not durable.
It breaks pretty easily ngl. I've gone through two in the last two years. They always break when I drop them or misplace them, but damn do they draw nicely on my LG Gram 16 2-1 laptop (GOOGLE YOUR LAPTOP/DEVICES PEN PROTOCOL SETTINGS, AS THIS MAY NOT BE COMPATIBLE WITH YOUR DEVICE) I imagine if you're very careful with it and put it away in a safe place every time after you use it, and don't drop it on hard surfaces, that this pen would last a lot longer, I want to give it 3 and a HALF stars, but I'm rounding down.

Great pen for 2017 Microsoft Surface Pro
I’m very happy with this device! I purchased this for use with the newest version of MS Surface Pro, as I was looking for a high quality option at a better price point than the one made by MS. After reading many reviews for other options on the market, it appeared that this was one of only a few that worked seamlessly with MS products (most others work only for iPads or other brands of tablets/touchscreen computers). It was a cinch to set up and works flawlessly. It also comes with three additional tips in various sizes included, which you have to pay extra for with the MS brand pen. I will note that I am not using it for detailed drawling or design, so I cannot comment on its use in that area. However, I played around with it using the native drawing applications and it seemed to work very well. Highly recommended!

Quality windows ink pen
I bought one of these puppies used for use with my Acer spin 5 laptop to take notes with in onenote for college. The spin 5's digitizer appears to suck, but this pen is very good, in my opinion; it does everything I need it to and I have no complaints. For the buttons near the tip of the pen, hold the bottom button for lasso select and hold the top button for eraser mode. Very handy, those. The batteries on this thing seem to last one semester (when taking notes ~5-10 hours a week), although that was with the battery that shipped with the (used) pen, so your mileage may vary.
