Absolute Garbage!
This drive is complete garbage! I tested the drive with H2Testw and during the first 2 minutes the drive gets close to advertised speeds then immediately drops off. The drive gets so hot it slows down big time! I've seen the manufacture reply to some reviews here that complained about the speed drop and they say that's normal because that's how protection works. Well, true, that's how protection works but FALSE, that is NOT normal!!!!After copying only 10GB of data the drive drops down to 27MBps write and 180MBps read. That is flat out unacceptable. If all you are going to do is copy tiny little files then you don't need a 512GB drive. If you are going to read and write large files then this thing will take forever! It took over 5 hours to fill the drive. FIVE HOURS!!! So yeah, it's slowing down to protect itself from overheating but the fact it gets that hot in the first place is totally nuts and a major fail! Take a look at Samsung's BAR Plus 256GB. It maintains it's full speed throughout the entire 256GB, takes about 20 minutes to fill up and never gets past warm. So double that. Do you want 40 minutes for 512GB or OVER FIVE HOURS!?!? The choice is clear. This product is garbage. I'm sending it back for two Samsungs.EDIT:As I expected. Their garbage cut and paste reply. With the added lie that this happens to all flash drives. WRONG!!!! The vast majority of all flash drives do NOT get this crazy insane hot.

Fast and versatile drive with two ports that looks nice too
I don't think much about flash drives, they work or they don't. they are fast or slow. Beyond that is all cosmetics. Yes, this is an attractive thumb drive. Yes, it has both USB and USB-C adapters that swivel into position. Yes its fast and seems to work well and for me, that's all that matters. Yes, I would buy it again.

Solid, well built, almost a work of art, and works as advertised
When you first hold this unit in your hand you cannot help but be impressed with the precision and workmanship. The dongle portion rotates like silk in the yoke. The big USB portion is one solid sleek piece of metal. I use this to transfer files from my PC's to my Galaxy Tab S4, with its USB-C port, and this unit works flawlessly on both end of the process. When you plug this stick into the Tab, you can bring up a directory of the files on this stick, which even has thumbnails for the photos on the stick. Tansfer is very fast.

When you need solid construction, pick this unit.
Got so tired of other well know name brand Thumb drives being made of plastic and wearing out the slide that extends the connectors or the plastic hangers used for lanyards breaking. The USB-C connector extends enough to get past my phones thick case!

it worked
I don't know anything about these. I like the look, it worked well it appeared durable and it went into my chromebook without an adapter, which was important to me. Men who keep it in their pocket may not like it as it is about 1/2 the length of a pen. There is also no cover over the end that is sticking out so for people that carry it and use it all the time this might be a concern. I don't know anything about them. For me I want to use it for long term storage offline document storage locked away securely.

This Nifty Drive just works!
I do not use an android, but I have two Mac laptops (one has USB 3.0 and the other USB-C). This drive has been the perfect device to move files back and forth with ease when airdrop isn't possible. The design is clean, and the enclosure is slim enough to use alongside other peripherals. I have the 128Gb version, and I couldn't be happier.

Inconsistent Write Performance
In a series of tests this evening under Windows 10 on a Dell Precision 7720, I saw very mixed not-great results for writes. I ran my tests using both a USB 3.1 port and the system's (only) USB-C / Thunderbolt port; neither made a difference. On large files (~6GB CentOS ISOs), write speeds peaked at about 60MB/s but across 4 continuous transfers, writes averaged just 355KB/s. By comparison, a competitor's drive boasting similar specs averages about 27MB/s on the same transfers in the same USB 3.1 / USB-C ports.=> Depending on your use case, this ROKHY drive is probably not usable. The good news is that reads were both consistent and blazing fast for a device like this, averaging 240MB/s - which is actually faster than the spec posted in the product description. The drive gets hot, probably hot enough to cause the onboard controller to have issues, which may explain the write behavior I saw.The drive looks and feels high quality, but I just received it today, so I can't speak to longevity - and given the write performance, I may well send it back.Recommended with great caution.

Hope it Lasts!
Update as 08/01/2020:---------------------------While it hasn't fallen apart, it heats up very quickly on large file copies and slows down to USB 2 speeds.I also purchased the Sabrent Rocket Nano 2TB USB 3.2 10Gb/s External Aluminum SSD (Silver) (SB-2TB-NANO) and while NOT a thumbdrive, it is still very portable and it is MUCH FASTER! If I had kept the packaging, I would return the thumbdrive.Original Review Below:I bought the ROKHY 1TB Extreme to replace a cheaply made Samsung like product that fell apart. I needed a drive that easily supports both Type-A and Type-C interfaces.I am a software architect and I use 4 different laptops. This drive is used for portable apps.Compared to Kingston Traveler drives, it feels CHEAP.The issues that concern me over long term use are:1) The USB interface ports don't completely store within the unit when not in use (this could cause the port to be damaged / bend).2) The locking method to select the desired interface (a sliding button that locks when pushed to far left/right) doesn't actually lock into place - when inserting the drive, one needs to HOLD the button firmly so the port doesn't slide out before inserting into the USB port on the computer.
