Best Vac on the Planet
The 3500 is a killer machine, It has every option there is on one machine, built like a tank, heavier than most all vacs, will suck a golf ball thru a garden hose...lol. Very powerful and that's adjustable, has 2 sealing strips instead of 1, and double seals the bag, very good idea, sealing time is adjustable also for those cheapy bags, has the port on the lid for the foodsaver hose to plug into for your canisters and mason jars, just a beautiful, powerful, workhorse. I suspect this will last the average home owner a lifetime. Parts are easy to get too. One bummer is getting the stainless protective plastic coating off, that's not fun. This is quite a substantial upgrade from the FoodSaver

DONT BUY THIS READ FIRST
I purchased this unit because I burned through 3 food saver units in 5 years and I was tired of buying a new one every year or two. Out of the box the unit turned on and appeared to be operational. I started my first seal and immediately the unit shut off. After some trouble shooting, I realized the fuse burned out. Brand new and fuse burns out the first time I turned it on? No problem, I replaced the fuse with an identical fuse and the unit worked fine. I sealed about 30-40 bags over a week. The third fourth time I went to use it, the unit no longer sealed. The vacuum would work but the seal bar did not function. By that time, the return policy was past due. I contacted the manufacture (Weston) via phone, but they don't speak to you on the phone. You have to fill out a form online. So I went to their website, filled out the form, hit submit, and it appears the form never went through. Tried again with no luck. Now apparently, I have a $600 paper weight. IVE SEEN OTHERS WITH THIS SAME PROBLAM AND I GET GET ANY RESPONCE FROM THE COMPANY

Well made unit
First off this is not a commercial unit this is a high-end household unit.that said the material selection is very good for what it is. it uses a twin piston vacuum pump that is made in China the pump itself is adequate for a high-end household unit but is in no way adequate for a commercial unit . the materials,, the stainless steel the bag roll holder and the bag cutter are very nice the vacuum seal is also very nice the double strip heating element is widely available and all replacement parts are manufactured in China for Cabela's and Westin. The key to a vacuum sealer is the vacuum pump on a commercial unit they use what is a oil lubricated vein vacuum pump on a non-commercial household unit they use a dry or non lubricated piston vacuum cylinder pump the difference between the two is night and day for the money you can buy a low end True commercial vacuum sealer however with all the options and the size of this particular unit it is a very reasonable unit for the money so all things considered I give this 4.5 out of 5 stars it is a good reliable solid high-end household unit. Based on usage you may be replacing the pump after 5 to 8 years of average household use the pump is easily obtained and the current cost is about $44 easily replaced by the owner in less than 45 minutes anyone can do it just need a few simple tools and Common Sense

Professional Quality
We do a lot of sous vide cooking and also must buy most of our proteins in larger quantities than the two of us can consume at a sitting. This makes a vacuum sealer a "must-have" in our kitchen. We had been using an ARY 112S, a consumer version of ARY's chamber vacuum. This unit gave up after a few years and I was unable to repair it. It is also very large, heavy, slow and noisy. The Weston was bought as a replacement and, except for very wet items, is superior to the ARY chamber in every regard. It is fast, quick and quiet and is working flawlessly.

Worth every penny!!!
Massive machine . Built to last. Im very impressed with the quality and craftsmanship. The size of the machine is my only complaint . Too big for kitchen counters really.. takes up too much space to leave out. The vacuum pressure is excellent and easy to use.

Weston 65-0901-w Pro-3500 Customer Service HORRIBLE
I purchased a Weston 65-0901-w Pro-3500 vacuum sealer costing close to $600 and barely after 2 months of use one of the heating elements broke. I contacted customer service to see if they would send me a replacement under the 1 year warranty. And heres what I got back from Nathan in customer service “ Please know that the teflon tapes, heat elements and oval foam gaskets are considered wear parts and do need to be periodically replaced. These parts are not typically covered under the warranty.” So instead of using common customer service he sends me a link to go buy one from them. I know its a wearable item but a little over 2 months of use you would think they would say sorry to hear that, generally we dont cover that but we will make an exception and send one out to you since it is so new but no, Nathan sends me a link to spend more money on buying a new heating element, something they could send me and maybe cost them $1 or $2 but no, he sends me a link to buy one after spending $600 on a vacuum sealer. And they consider it wearable and it needs to be replaced periodically, are you kidding me? You mean every 2 months I should expect to need to replace the heating element after using it once or twice a week? This is what I should expect from a $600 vacuum sealer???? All I can say is lesson learned, Stay away from their products if this is the kind of customer service you will expect from such an expensive vacuum sealer. And how insulting for customer service and Nathan in particular to tell me its not covered but heres the link to buy one from us after 2 months of use. OMG, they are horrible.!!!!
