Excellent workhorse of a desktop
Six months later this machine is working like a charm. I feel like I really got a great deal for the configuration I wanted. Setup went well. I highly recommend HP desktops and this vendor has been reliable.

Great Value & Upgradable Too!
My wife bought this for me for Christmas 2024 to replace my dinosaur desktop that I bought in 2012, Windows 10. Hey! I was busy! LOL! We own a taxi company. Everything is always hectic! So today I finally got around to upgrading to this one because the fan in the old one started running non stop yesterday. Installed the maximum memory upgrade, installed a graphics card upgrade, USB hub, 2nd monitor, wired back lighted keyboard and mouse and finally... a new mouse pad. The old mouse pad had seen better years! LOL! It wasn't too bad given I had been using other Windows 11 PCs. For what it's worth it's blazing fast for what my expectations are. I don't do gaming other than virtual pinball, which I have full sized digital pinball machines in my game/rec room. I am very impressed with the quick transition of web pages, Fast loading of the various software programs that I use. The ease of transferring all my data files and associated apps. I only has a couple issues with some software that transferred. No problem! Called support for those companies and they fixed me right up. My dispatch software is what had me the most concerned. Whew! Dodged a bullet with that one. Just had to re-log in and validate/verify who I am with most websites that I use.. Overall I can say, for my needs, this computer will serve it's purpose. Maybe next time I won't wait so long to upgrade. I'm surprised that my 13 year old computer held up this long. Yes, I did have to listen to my wife say; "It's about darned time!" Those weren't her exact words though. She's happy though. We got her a Mustang GT! I think she's distracted now, You know the old term... "If Mama ain't happy, DUCK! Frying pans are dangerous! Have a great night, y'all!

Very nearly returned it.
Within about an hour sound stopped. Six hours on line with Windows support restored the sound. The machine is fine, Windows is not. The SSD makes bootstrap super fast. Windows 11 stinks (have I mentioned that?). Lot's of RAM, lots of storage. This is my second HP machine. The machine this one replaced died because of Windows. I was able to repair Windows and, now, that one is running, again, too.

Bluetooth functionality questionable.
The functionality seems good, but bluetooth / wireless headphones do not work well (I tried my old ones as well as some new ones). Direct wired ones do work well. WiFi functions well.

Reliable and Efficient Desktop for Business Needs
I recently purchased the HP Pro Tower 290 G9 business desktop, and it has exceeded my expectations in every aspect. As someone who values affordability without compromising performance, this desktop stood out to me as an excellent choice. The Intel Core i5-12400 12th generation processor delivers exceptional speed and efficiency, making light work of tasks such as basic programming, internet research, digital marketing activities, and crafting client presentations and quotes. The performance has been consistently excellent across all these tasks, allowing me to work seamlessly without any lag. One standout feature of this desktop is its speed, which significantly enhances productivity in a business environment. Additionally, the inclusion of an extra 1TB HDD for additional storage alongside the primary hard drive is a valuable asset for organizing and storing work-related data. With 32GB of RAM, multitasking is a breeze, and I can run multiple applications simultaneously without experiencing any slowdowns. In terms of design and usability, the HP Pro Tower 290 G9 is straightforward and user-friendly, with a focus on practicality and efficiency. I have not encountered any notable drawbacks or areas for improvement thus far. I highly recommend the HP Pro Tower 290 G9 for anyone in need of a reliable and efficient desktop solution for their business endeavors. It offers excellent performance at an affordable price point, making it a solid investment for professionals in various industries.

HP Desktop.
Like the quick start. It is physically shorter than expected. Based on the picture on Amazon I thought it was a tower. (Should have paid more attention to the size specs.) It’s a tree stump. Fits well on desk top. Front USB ports are convenient. It is faster than my laptop and is expandable. Getting used to Windows 11 Pro. So far it is a good value for the money. The keyboard and mouse that come with it are wired and are throw aways. I’ll donate them to the local thrift store. The “tower” itself seems to be high quality. It performs quite well.

Lots of bang for the buck!
Had a power supply crap out on my desktop. Was able to muddle through with an old laptop for a while. This was an excellent value and easy to set up and use, until I could get the old power supply fixed. Very nice set up!
