Slow start but 100% germination when I did it the right way...
This is a big day!! I've bought 6 of these seeds. The first 3 I soaked; nothing! The next three I nicked and planted in barely-damp well drained soil. Two weeks passed with no joy. I was about to dig the spot up and plant the cucuzzi seeds the lady sent me from Lithuania. BUT... yesterday I went out and one bean had sprouted and looked healthy. Today, two more. I'm on my way to an amazing crop of huge beans. I hope. Update. Two days later. The first bean to sprout now has 2 pairs of true leaves deployed and I can see a hint of the third pair. The other two are about to open up their leaves. The deployed leaves are about 1 1/2 inches in length...

wish I would have planted it earlier because this took off like a jet plane
Planted one seed last year in late July, wish I would have planted it earlier because this took off like a jet plane. You could seriously watch it grow just sitting there. Ordered it again and am starting it indoors this winter, can't wait for the giant beans to go with the giant plant I had last year! If it weren't for the early snow in Idaho..... :(

Only got one out of the three seeds to sprout ...
Only got one out of the three seeds to sprout, but it is growing quite well. Be aware that you have to break the seed coat slightly to get them to sprout at all. Simply take a sharp scissor and lightly cut one end of the seed coat. Be careful to not cut yourself (duh), and also to not cut the seed itself, just the outer skin.

Don't give up
Like the other reviews stated, had only 3. I took a razor and nicked all like the instructions said. Planted after the ground was warm, nothing. But I did not give up. I decided to keep trying and watered every other day, and I fertilized with a steer manure tea and after 25 days they popped up.I think it had to get and hot for them to open up. We finally broke 100 degrees for two or three days before they broke ground.

Nothing
I have recently ordered many different seeds off of amazon and have been sucessfull in germinating all of them so far but got nothing form the sword bean seeds. I figured since you only get three seeds that the germination ratio was really high but i didnt get one sprout and i tried three different starting methods. I am interested in growing these beans seeds so will look into other suppliers i would like more than three to work with. Im glad to read other reviews and some people actually got success. I would still be carefull what you order the shipping was more than the seeds so might as well get more seeds.

Purchased 6
Nothing at all, tried different soils and even slightly heated soil, No germination, Yes i soaked and nicked I think its just a mail thing and seeds thing. They should wrap a little foil around them before shipping to help against X-ray securities.
