Really good book.
Great book. Highly recommended for photography enthusiast but do read the other books in the series first.

Excellent
I have an annual custom of reading/re-reading Barthes on flights every December/January. Last year it was Mourning Diary that piqued my interest. And this year, it is Camera Lucida, a book that Barthes was working on alongside the aforementioned diary. Just as sublimely Barthes as possible, Camera Lucida takes our common everyday perspectives out for a drive, makes us question our very perspective regarding images, and then brings us back to square one. Questioning whether we are indeed back where we began from. Barthes puts the question himself, that he attempts to establish a hypothesis that is already a theory. But then again, had Barthes not questioned the lucidity of the photographic process, we might just have had to contend ourselves with a Camera Obscura.

Must read
In the days of narcissism of selfies, this book is a counter point of photography. He talk of photographs as remnants even when he sees his mother or a little girl. The psychological approach is a must even if some reader may be a strong votary of photography.

Not even properly printed
The media could not be loaded. Last 30 plus pages are not even printed, very bad quality check by amazon India, they should do proper product quality check before handover to the customer .
