This is the second book in The Legend of the Firewalker
Okay so I like the premise of this book I even like the main characters although they can be quite inconsistent in their actions . For example Lafonda and Nathan their relationship is very unclear in one instance their best friends with this friends with benefits give going on . And at first I thought that Nathan being with Lea was a good thing but than Leah showed just how unstable and has become and frankly I don't trust her not to put the rest of the gang in danger . Of course we get all the teen angst and snarkiness I can live without but it's become a staple in young Adult book's so we have to live with it . There's so much subterfuge going on that I'm not sure what exactly is going on . We have a deep dark conspiracy that has to do with the founding of the Order corruption at the highest level and the people you think that you can trust are to weak to do anything about it . I have to say that I hoped for more in the second book at least some kind of clarity but no just more mystery our main protagonist goes from one crisis to another with no relief I need more explanations come on .

Read it if the dog ate your crayons
"Drawing Bloodlines (The Legend of the Firewalker...)""Follow John Kemp and his unusual band of misfits, as they journey where others have only dreamt of going," says the blurb. Really? Without Kirk or Picard or warp drive? This is a YA book that is really, really a YA book, achingly predictable, derivative, and -- worse--second in a series that may never end, These characters confront terrible problems: the book starts in the perspective of Nathan, rueful that he's never learned to wield a sword. He reflects that the battle is all his fault, because he chose to be a camp counselor. If he had a sword, he'd most likely fall on it. But we don't get off that easy. We soon learn that this Nathan has more special abilities than simply solipsistic guilt -- he is, of course, a savant. Aren't they all?Well, they don't all have red ropes and silver ropes and an alternate history this boring.I wanted to read this entire book to see what it might contain. It contains words on a page about things such as red robes and silver ropes, and a story which kept putting me to sleep. Not even Laura, with her emerald eyes and her face that tends to contort when she's stressed, could hold my interest. The plot does squeek along, but oh so tritely. The ambiance is more suitable for Mall of America or Piccadilly Circus than an alternate world at the level of sword-swinging. For preteens this story might be fun (this being a second volume of a series I really can't tell, since it has no beginning or end of consequence), but surely for no one older: the book is aimed for double digit IQs or the sheltered young, and may hit its mark. I wouldn't know, not being challenged in either regard.Only recommended if the dog ate your crayonsBuy it for a niece or nephew who likes white breadIf you want an easy read, minimal vocabulary, common

Great book!
I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review. The action picks up rather quickly in Drawing Bloodlines. These kids are a walking magnet for danger and violence and so many times I was sitting on the edge of my seat waiting in anticipation for what was going to happen next. There are so many twists in this story that open up so many more questions then the first book did. Yet, we also get a few answers in this book. This is a great story with all of the elements I like to see.Alan has become one of my favorite characters, he is such a typical teenager with his bellyaching and sarcasm. In general this is a well rounded groups of teens with amazing abilities and a desire to learn the truth that is threatening to destroy them. I highly recommend this series for adults as well as YA readers. I am looking forward to the next book!! Great read!

Good to Great!
I enjoyed every second reading this book and devoured it in three days. The first chapter drew me in. The writing immediately made me feel as if I was about to experience something special and the story didn’t disappoint. In the beginning, the author does a good job trying to catch the reader up to speed with the events of book #1 while still moving the story forward. I don’t think it’s necessary to read the first book to enjoy book #2, but I recommend picking up book #1 if you are a fan of the series. There is more action in this book than the first and the story is picking up some steam. Although the characters go to London, we still get the campfire stories and tales like in the first book. We also learn more about the urban legends surrounding the town of Cahokia Falls which appears to be the title of book #3 in the series.

I can't wait for the next book!
I can't wait for the next book. The characters are teenagers thrown into a world where they have to become brave. I find myself being scared for them; I'm pulled into the story so much. The books took my mind to places its never been, but not so far out I dismissed it all together. I find the characters naïve, but I can get past that. It was a bit annoying to read so many lines start out with, "Ugh" and such exclamations. But, these are teenagers, and I can tell by the writing that the writer doesn't write like the typical American writer. So, I can also overlook "Ugh."

Great story line.
I enjoy reading new angles on the paranormal. This was a creative story. There were a few errors that a good editor would have caught. Things like using he instead of she, which made me go back and read it again. However there were not so many that I was unable to enjoy the story. I will be watching for the next book.

Gets better and better with each book
The second book in the series of a coming of age tale of young people who learn they have supernatural powers and are now forced to figure out how to win a war of good vs evil. In this book there is double if not triple the amount of action and fighting that there was in the first installment and we start to learn more and more about the bloodlines of our favorite characters. If you read the first book this is a must ....if you have not read the first book you are totally missing out.

Amazing storyline
The best book I have read in a long time. A well build storyline with way more action than the first one, the idea of building a back story to Malick was the best part of this book.Highly recommend this to anyone that loves action, fantasy and a well build storyline. Can’t wait for book 3 “Urban Legends”, which brings me to one poin...On the official book series website, it says that preorders are starting in January 2016, it’s 2018 already and I am still not able to find any information of when or if the book will be released. Don’t let that put you off reading it though, highly recommend and will definitely recommend to everyone. Happy reading!
