G-Shock GG-1000-1A Mudmaster Men's Watch

You're either a G-Shock person or your not. I most definitely am. I'm not a military guy or cop or anything like that who typically buy these things because they are virtually indestructible and also have a ton of useful features. I'm a technician who works in the petrochemical industry. But I also need a daily driver that can hold up to a significant amount of abuse and look tough doing it. And this watch delivers. Very tough looking watch, easy to read and has temperature and a compass on top of all the other standard G-shock functions. It's big, but I'm a big guy so it fits well on me. I've had several G-shocks and I've been happy with all of them. This is my first Master-of-G watch and I am loving it. Time will tell how well it holds up but every other G-shock I've had have done well so I'm sure this one will too. Don't hesitate to buy this watch if you like the looks and features. If you don't there are a million other versions of G-Shock to pick from. They are all good! Edit: After about 3 months or so I started noticing fog on the inside of the face after a shower. And it took hours to go away. I contacted Casio about this but they said it was normal. I have had many G-Shocks and none of them have ever had that issue before. Since Casio wasn't going to do anything about it I tried to remove the back and re-seal the gasket with some silicone grease. It didn't help. After swimming later that day with the watch I noticed it had a significant amount of water inside and it was not working. That has not dissuaded me of G-Shocks at all. Like I said I've had many of them and only that one had an issue. But I wasn't impressed with customer service at all. I will probably buy that one again eventually because I really liked it.

This GG-1000 Mudmaster is one of the best SHTF watches alongside the GW-9400 Rangeman. If you are into military Spec Ops or a survivalist person, this is a must have watch and holds much value. Its digital compass pathfinder and the analog second hand is what makes this watch stands out the most, its downside that is not solar powered which means the batteries run out in two years time at best so make sure you get an extra batteries.

Bought it on sale for a great price and seemed like a great watch. I have a small to medium size wrist and was way, way to big which was disappointing at the price I bought it for so make sure your a person with a large arm and wrist then your all set because the watch looked great.

I'll be honest, I bought this watch because I thought it looked cool with its bulky bezels and sporty wristband. Good thing it's definitely cool. This watch does everything I need it to when I workout, sit in the office, or go out hiking. The watchface is clear and distinct which is important with the primary function of a watch, to tell time. I take showers with in in the gym with no issues and I've already received compliments on it. It's a great, durable watch with many useful functions. You definitely can't go wrong with it.

My husband loved this watch and had it for 3 yrs. BUT every year it went thru a battery which ok that's normal for one of these type of watches I guess with all the stuff it has running all the time. But just at the 3 yrs mark, the buttons quit working even tho a fresh battery was put in it. I bought the extended warranty and it quit 2 months after the 3 yrs was up. He has a lot of expensive watches, like Tag, Breitling & Rolex not to mention Seiko & Citizens Quartz but he like this one the best. BTW he didn't misuse this watch, he didn't sleep with it on, he always took it off when he had his hands or body in water and even if he was working on the tractor or mowers, he would remove so as not to get grease or oil on it. He will be waiting awhile before I spend more money on something that just looks cool.

main con: i can't easily/quickly read the date when the minute or hour hand is up between 10 or 2. i tried for a day and it just annoyed me. also, the light is, i'm sorry, completely useless at night. the hands and hours ticks are glow in the dark which helps you read them in pitch black. the light, which i would assume was built to help you read the rest of the display since the hands/ticks are covered, doesn't help read anything. and i REALLY wanted to keep the watch and make myself be okay with the light, but i gave in and said it wasn't good enough. great other features though (seriously well made). just wish the light was better and the date display easier to read. oh oh oh - one other thing. so when you're playing with the world clock time and the digital time, you can switch to which world clock is which (analog versus digital). and the watch sells that oh you can swap the two in a second. nope - you can swap them alright, but the analog doesn't instantly switch to the new time. it SLOWLY rotates around until it gets to the new time. i.e., if i was a noon and the new time was 11am, it's rotate for 11 hours until getting to 11am. and i'm talking this takes a few minutes (real time) to do. that was annoying.

I always wanted to own a casio G Shock mudmaster. I own lots of G SHOCK watches but this one GG10001A is by far the best one. I looked at all the mudmasters,rangefinders & frogman watches and decided to buy the GG10001A as it ticks all the boxes for what I want regarding a watch. Perfect, easy to read & value for money.

This watch screams rugged. The hands and face are very easy to read. There is an option to illuminate by the turning of the wrist so you do not need to press the button. As a large face timepiece I thought it would be awkward on my narrow wrist, but it actually feels nice and looks good too.
