Great mini pod
I wanted a small tripod for my 20 x 60mm spotting scope to pack on trips that was sturdy and simple. This is it. The nice thing about it is the dual pan head has just the right amount of tension that you can pan up or down and side to side smoothly yet the scope stays pointing at your object. It is remarkably sturdy for how light weight it is. I would have given it a 5 star, except there was a screw missing that holds the 1/4" mounting screw in place. Fortunately I had some screws that fit perfectly.

It works but the scope is a big too over size and heavy and it can be easily tipped over
i use this for my Celestron 52250 80mm Ultima Zoom Spotting Scope. It works but the scope is a big too over size and heavy and it can be easily tipped over. I recommend this metal tripod for small cameras and phones.. not for that scope.

An excellent value
I have a Leupold 20-60x80 angled-eyepiece spotting scope. Big and bulky. The bench-top tripod that came with it has nice features but the apparatus joining the tripod to the scope is plastic and flimsy. This tripod is simple and solid and is not flimsy. It's mostly metal. It does not have the typical shoe mounting that camera tripods have. Instead, there is a thick metal plate with a sponge rubber pad on top. The mounting screw protrudes from the bottom of the plate. Attaching it to the scope is a bit awkward but I figured it out and it's not an issue to me.The vertical and horizontal axis movement are both controlled by the handle, so tightening the handle locks in both. Again, no problem for me.The feet are 11 inches apart. The bench to the top of the mounting plate is 10 inches. I don't fear a gust of wind will blow this thing over, damaging my scope. If this thing lasts me a couple of years I'll be super happy.

Glad I read B Man B's review.
Well I would have never taken a chance on this if it hadn't been for B Man's review of this product. I received it to day and it is really very well built for the money. I believe that it will work out just fine no my spotting scope at the range. If you need a good tripod for you spotting scope I think you will be happy with this one and if not you really haven't spent a ton of money on it.

What I expected
I read the reviews before I bought this tripod and it was exactly what I expected. For the money it is a lightweight but sturdy benchrest tripod. I am going to use for a Leupold medium size spotting scope. I've used it and really like it. It came at a great price and I was not disappointed. I can recommend this product.
