Very good serger
Excellent serger. Haven’t used it a whole lot yet since I’m in the process of converting a room into a sewing room(big project) but have lots of projects to get to when it’s done. So glad I decided to get this machine. It is very well built & does everything I want in a serger. There is almost no vibration while running & the color coding makes it pretty simple to thread. Couldn’t be happier to have this very good quality serger.

THE BEST SERGER I HAVE EVER WORKED ON!
🥰I love this machine🥰. It works like a charm, very smooth, with perfect stitches that meet the edge of the fabric every time. I purchased this particular machine because I had an identical serger in a different brand that never failed me for decades, in a custom drapery shop that I owned. The only thing I ever did to it was clean it, oil it and sharpen the blades for 30 some years. Then when I retired and moved, it got damaged in the move. Having said that, prior. to this, I worked for a sewing machine shop for many years, selling a bunch of different sewing machines and sergers. I was also their instructor three evenings a week teaching new owners how to use their sewing machines and sergers. A three week course that came free with their purchase. I am telling you all of this because I can honestly say I am VERY familiar with most all of the major brands of sewing machines out there, and out of all of them, having used most of them, this is the one I chose to purchase for myself. Not because it was cheaper than most of them, although it was but because I believe in buying quality and a product that you will not grow out of. But in this case I bought this serger because out of all of the machines like it, I loved the way it sewed, sounded and operated. I could literally feel the quality of this machine. It is user friendly. I would recommend it to anyone.

A great first serger!
I bought this as my first ever serger and would recommend it to those looking to do the same. Threading the machine was not hard, and I quite enjoyed learning the inner workings of the machine in the process. I have only used the standard 4 thread overlocking stitch, but was very pleased with how clean and professional it works. Compared to my sewing machine, the serger stitches very fast! I cannot compare this to other sergers as I've never used one before. As others have stated, the machine doesn't have a scrap bin. This does not bother me.

Perfect mid-price serger.
I've been using this for a couple of months now, and sewn about 20 garments using it. It's worth every penny for the time and effort saved VS not owning a serger. I have never had to re-thread it from scratch since it is designed for pull-through threading (except for threading the needles) But the machine opens wide and has very clear markings if you ever break a thread. There are also some very helpful YouTube videos demonstrating how to use different settings to get the large number of different stitches it can do.You will need a tiny vacuum to keep it clean.

The best sewing tool!
The media could not be loaded. After several months of working with this Juki, I am now of the belief that this is all you need to start making great clothes- more important than a standard sewing machine, even! This is especially true when working with knit fabrics. The Juki makes it easy to work with stretchy knits, with the differential feed effortlessly pulling the fabric through with great stiches. The sound can be louder than other sewing machines but is quite pleasant, like a well-tuned industrial machine. This truly feels like a workhorse machine despite being targeted for home use; I have had no trouble getting many layers of thick knit fabrics through it. I would highly recommend it as your main serger and sewing machine!

Little Workhorse of a Machine Highly Recommend
LOVE LOVE LOVE this serger!!!! It's easy to use, not too difficult to thread, and runs SOOOOOO smoothly. It's built like a tank, and there is NO vibration on my table when I am using it. Lots of quality for a reasonable price.Highly recommend! Looking forward to a long creative relationship !!!!

Smooth and pretty stitches, but not perfect
I owned the Brother 1034D for a few years before deciding to upgrade. I sew for a few baby apparel companies and regularly need to serge knits. To my great surprise, the first Juki sent to me actually broke within 3 days. I did nothing out of the ordinary -- it just clunked and the loopers got out of whack and wouldn't pass each other. Amazon quickly sent me a replacement, which has been working fine so far, fingers crossed. I can only compare it to my Brother as I haven't serged with another model, so that's the perspective I have.Pros:- Fast and smooth- Superior stitch quality to my Brother- Sews thin and thick fabrics well -- passes over thick seam intersections no problem. Stitches are nice and flat even on single layers of thin drapey fabrics.Cons:- More tedious to thread.- Threads are exposed instead of "laid in," so I'm always catching stuff on them accidentally and getting them tangled up- Differential feed adjustment doesn't work as well. On my Brother I can crank up the differential feed and tension to gather fabric really tightly. The highest differential feed ratio on the Juki still stretches out knit fabrics, no matter how I adjust the presser foot pressure. On some projects I still use my Brother for this reason.- Presser foot lever is around the back left of the machine, which is harder to reach as a right-hander. I prefer the Brother's lever that is on the right front of the machine.
