Awesome Pro controller for $70
Wow!!! This controller blew away my expectations. I have spent $200 bucks on pro controllers on the past, because I am a picky controller freak. This controller should serve most people's needs, especially if you one leans towards the more casual side. TMR Joysticks feel really good. The extra bumpers are easy to reach without hitting the main bumpers. I put map and status on them for (GOG) Resident Evil 3. For me the fact that this controller is fully supported in Steam and Steam OS is the main attraction. I only have 3 controllers that feature this and one is the Og Steam controller from more than 10 years ago. The other a Hori Steam controller which I like, but the face buttons hurt my thumb after a while. The Xbox Elite 2 also but very expensive and problematic at best for most people. A must for me being primarily PC nowadays. Every controller that claims to be PC should fully support Steam OS. It makes sense. Most will work in Steam but are not fully supported. I can map keyboard keys to this controller. The only thing I would ask of 8BitDO is to please consider a controller with mechanical everything, buttons, d-pad, bumpers. Also, if Valve won't do it themselves make a full Steam Controller with trackpads. I would be in Heaven if 8BitDo would consider these options. Side note, many reviews mock the arcade ball joysticks that come with the controller. Even 8BitDo claims they are just for fun. If you play old school shooters such as Batsugun , Gradius ,and R-Type etc, etc. These arcade ball joysticks actually make a difference, I don't know if it's simply the height with the ball on top, but I can move more precisely with them. Granted I'm not expert at these games, but I love them. It will never replace a full-size ball that you can actually grip as opposed to moving them with your thumb, but it's much better than your average analog stick on a controller for those types of games in my opinion. (I unfortunately do not have room for an arcade stick in my setup.) But that is perhaps just me and your mileage may vary. Sadly, I guess with the mocking of these arcade sticks, they probably will never come with future 8BitDo controllers, but I did find a very niche use case for them. Thank you 8Bitdo!!!

Works great on Linux
I've been looking for a easy to use wireless controller for my pc running Linux. Every Bluetooth controller just can't seem to work well so I've been having to use a wired connection. This 8bitdo controller has this really nice USB dongle that is just plug and play! Controller works flawlessly and the charging dock is excellent! Great build quality all around and I really love this throwback Orange Spice color from the GameCube era!

amazing gamepad, highly recommend!
this is an exceptional third party gamepad folks! so many well thought out design considerations. and i absolutely love the customizability of this gamepad! it is very easy to swap out the buttons and the analog sticks. the extra buttons and the little suction cup button grabber also fit into the base station - great so you won't lose these tiny items! my only critique this product is the ball joysticks do not also fit into the base (i've already lost one, whoops!) additionally, the 2.4ghz usb dongle also neatly packs into the wired base station, and it can be used while its docked in the base station so you can charge the device and use the 2.4ghz dongle and only take up a single usb port on your PC. the gamepad connects with my pc via 2.4ghz connection within 2 seconds or so, it's very fast! much faster than connecting a paired bluetooth accessory, so I always use 2.4ghz. the gamepad will go to sleep after not being used for several minutes (maybe 5-10 min of inactivity, something like that). i have not yet figured out how to wake the gamepad up again without having to redock the device for a moment, but that's fine with me - still faster and better than bluetooth imho! oh and i absolutely LOVE this color, like gamecube goldenrod yellow. so glorious! thank you 8bitdo!

This is a must have!
This controller right here has to be one of the best controllers I bought this year. The feel and everything and I could also use this on PC and on other things with my Brooks USB adapters. Currently using this on my Switch 2 this definitely rivals the Switch 2 Pro controller for me. I would recommend this controller because it's easy to use and you could also use it really well on retro games. Just because it looks like it Super Nintendo controller also.

Not a Good Choice for RetroArch on iOS
Overall, I’m disappointed with this controller given its price. While it says it works with Apple devices, good luck on finding anything in the instructions about that - Apple devices aren’t mentioned. By trial and error, I learned the device needs to be in Switch mode for it to be recognized on iPhone or iPad. The next problem is if you plan to use this controller with RetroArch, you’ll find all the button inputs are backwards (A is B, X is Y, etc.). This was not an issue with the Pro 2 as there was a way to connect the controller in X-Input mode via Bluetooth. That’s no longer the case with the Pro 3. It has to be in Switch or Android mode for Bluetooth to work. Lastly, this just may be personal preference, but the buttons are obnoxiously loud. I don’t mind hearing some click when I use buttons on a controller, but these are far too loud. The positive is that the d-pad is awesome, but not enough to justify keeping the controller. If you’re using RetroArch on iOS or iPad, I think you’re better off buying a DualSense.

My new Favorite Controller.
I really like this controller. I bought this specifically for Silksong, and I'm just so impressed with how responsive and comfortable this thing is. I really like how easy it is to swap the buttons out. Plus it works on my PC and my Legion GO seamlessly without any reconfiguring.

one of, if not the best controllers for the price
First one i ordered, started giving me double and missed inputs within a day on the B button. but the controller felt great in the hand and everything else was great so i returned it and got a replacement. replacement has been working flawlessly. no connection losses, if there was one thing i could change it would be that the buttons are quite loud. would have been 5 stars, but only gets 4 due to quality control.

Absolute Empfehlung.

Most wanted gift in my son’s list and he loves it. Great for shiny hunting in the Pokémon game.
