The Complete Bronte Collection (Wordsworth Box Sets)

This is a classic collection of works that have withstood the test of time. The paperbacks have a nice aesthetic for your bookshelf and the content of the books is unparalleled. I mainly bought it to have a collection of all Charlotte Brontë’s works but was ecstatic to see I could purchase all of her sister’s works as well. As the premier literary family, all of there work is worth having on your shelves. So glad I could find this bargain!

I bought these because I wanted them on my shelf for my teens to read. They are a beautiful boxed set. One day, when I'm done raising kids, I hope to read them too!

Novels by Brönte sisters, some of the greatest history tellers from nineteeth century.

Im not reviewing the novels themselves (which so far I have deeply enjoyed) but Wordsworth publishing. These books are an incredible value for the price. Some will undoubtedly find the text too small, but it means they can make the books small and easier to hold. They have an elegant design, they are well bound, and crucially they have explanatory notes in the back of the books. Anne and Charlotte use a lot of French passages (especially Charlotte) and you will need the translations Wordsworth provides. They also define archaic words and customs, provide historical context, and occasionally explain how scenes may have been influenced by the authors real life experience. If you have a passion for classic literature and want to try reading the Brontë sisters, Wordsworth is the way to go, as long as you have young eyes that don’t mind small font.I will say that The Professor had a printing error that blurred the text on many pages, but this error is so slight that I can’t even make it apparent in pictures. None of the other books had this issue, nor have the dozen or two other Wordsworth books I’ve purchased.

Books are Nice!I haven't read them all, but a quick check says that they are of good quality. And the shipping was just a bit damaging. But I fixed it with some masking tape.Try to package the books as fragile because THEY ARE. That's all I have to say about that. Overall, you did good amazon people.

I can't believe we get all these novels for such a low price. Like Penguin books and Oxford World Classics, these books also come with an extensive commentary and endnotes. My only slight complaint is that the box if a very tight fit for these books. Once you get one book out, it will be quite difficult to put it back in. Also, on my copy of 'The Professor' the print was smeared on every left hand page.

Enjoyed reading these classic books for entertainment and increasing brain activity. Way better than movie adaptation.

Exactly what I wanted

Ya leí todos estos libros en español y obviamente por el contenido los recomiendo mucho.En cuanto a esta edición es económica y sencilla son pasta blanda y las hojas delgadas, pero no están mal. De hecho cada libro tiene indice, introducción y notas que señalan las palabras que ya no sé utilizan actualmente o algo muy específico. Lo único que no me gustan mucho son las portadas pero en general están pero he visto peores. 🙊 La caja me encantó y me llegó en muy buenas condiciones. El único que tiene un rasguño es el libro de Jane Eyre pero es mínimo.

I loved the classics (Jane Austen, Charlotte, Emily, and Anne Bronte) so when i saw this set i jumped on it. The box has a little damage on one corner but that is an easy fix. The books have a little minor damage on the spines and the covers but otherwise they're prefect. A great gift for any fan of these sisters or to get for yourself.

O melhor presente que eu já ganhei!! Os livros vieram certos, todos muito leves, lindos, apenas a letra que achei bem pequena mas nada que atrapalhe muito. Super recomendo a compra (e a caixa cheia de referências do livro também é linda!!

Je n'ai pas reçu la collection telle que présentée, j'ai reçu une collection beaucoup plus jolie. Les couvertures sont tout simplement superbes, je les adore toutes. Les pages sont un peu fragiles mais je préfère ça, elles sont plus faciles à tenir avec mes mains arthritiques. La boîte est jolie et solide, avec un joli design et elle est arrivée dans une autre boîte en carton. L'écriture est un peu petite, j'ai plus de 70 ans donc j'aurais préféré des caractères plus gros, mais je suis quand même très contente de mon achat.I did not receive the collection as shown, I got a much much nicer collection. The covers are just stunning, I love them all. The pages are a little flimsy but I prefer that, they are easier to hold with my arthritic hands. The box is nice and sturdy, with a pretty design and it arrived in another cardboard box. The writing is a little small, I am in my 70s so would have preferred larger type, but I am still very happy with my purchase.
