Best Pasta I’ve Ever Had
We absolutely love this spinach pasta and buy nothing else. Red sauce, white sauce - whatever you like. I think you’ll love it as well.

I prefer their recipe
I like their recipe for spinach pasta. I find the taste more delicate where others seem to want to hit you the head with it. I yet to find another spinach pasta that is a good as this one.

a great value on a hard-to-find item
Tasty. Very mild flavor. (Could benefit from more ink.) Fairly soft texture, even cooked to spec. (Could be chewier.) Overall, a great value on a hard-to-find item. Nice with a white sauce. (Add a bit of fresh cardomom.) BUT they've shrunk the package, and they keep raising the price. (In November 2015, I paid $26.64 here for six 12-oz packages. They are in danger of pricing themselves out of this market.UPDATE: Amazon tells me that I have purchased this product 14 times over the years, but it's been at least a couple of years since I have returned to it. The last time I ordered it, the performance just did not justify the price. This does not seem to be a complaint unique to Al Dente. It is one among numerous black pastas (using squid ink or, more often, cuttlefish ink) priced around $0.67/ounce at Amazon in 2023. It has been made by the same family near Ann Arbor, Michigan for about forty years, and it seems to be every bit as good as the most widely available imported stuff, which would normally be reason enough to purchase it again. There seem to be two kinds of people who purchase black pasta and comment about it at Amazon. Most people, I think, buy it as a novelty, and they are not disappointed. In fact, they tend to rave about it. The other group is comprised of individuals who have had the real thing (abroad or at a high-end Italian restaurant in the US) and know what it should taste like. These are people who complain that none of the brands here have a taste that measures up to past experince. Many of us would welcome a true premium black pasta offering from a trusted company like Al Dente. It seems like they have the resources to do that, and since so much of the final price these days is due to the (built-in) high cost of shipping, they ought to be able to do it at a level that consumers would recognize as much higher value per hard-earned dollar.

Make it to feel like a chef
Taste great, perfect after five minutes in boiling water. Best is with some pesto or Alfredo sauce (from a jar) you can pull together a quick meal that makes you feel like a pro (doesn’t take much in my case)

Excellent
We love these noodles, both the spinach and the garlic parsley. Great with Alfredo sauce or Basil Pesto—throw in some leftover pork, chicken, sautéed mushrooms and/or veggies.Quick easy meal.
